Army Community Service
The Army defines an EFM as any Family member, regardless of age, with any physical emotional, developmental, or intellectual disability which requires special treatment, therapy, education, training or counseling. The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated medical, educational, housing, community support, and personal services to Families with special needs, in accordance with AR 608-75.

Respite Care Need a break? Ask Respite Care to pay for caregiver services while you take a much-needed break. Must meet specific medical criteria to qualify. Maximum of 40 hours per month.

This is a welcome seminar for all newly enrolled EFMP Families and those EFMP Families new to the installation. Attendees will learn about respite care and other community support services. This is also an opportunity to get answers to your EFMP questions. Monthly, fourth Wednesday, 1330-1430

While every effort is made to find assignments that meet Family members’ needs, the needs of the Army come first. Soldiers may have to serve unaccompanied tours if the Army needs their skills in locations where no services exist for their EFM.
