Doris, in her 99th year, and Al

Welcome

We would like to welcome you to our 49th Annual Fall Production Sale. With 67 years of breeding registered Hereford cattle we feel we have the experience to give you confidence in our program. As most producers in the area we were glad to turn the page on winter. It was in these extreme conditions that reminded us and ensured us of why we raise Hereford cattle. The Hereford cow showed resilience to the strong winds and cold weather. She turned little feed into pounds when feedyards went dry. And showed up when the storms blew over with calf at side. But with the record snow fall it left the water holes full and the hills green. What a treat trailing cattle to summer ranges in belly deep grass. Following record snow was above average rain and record crops, where they have been taken off in near perfect condition. Feedyards are in nice shape and chance staying there as with extra grass will bring extended fall grazing. The easy doing Hereford cows are fat and their calves look heavy. It appears we too will be eating well through the winter. At Fenton Hereford Ranch our goal is to provide top quality, ranch tested cattle. Take advantage of our numerous years of mating and selecting cattle when considering your next replacement heifer, herd bull, or horse. Please come early to view the cattle and horses. Join us for lunch at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013. Sale starts at 1:00 p.m. at the ranch.

Has been a corner stone sire for the breed. His sons and daughters continue to be high sellers in many herds and sales. 254E will continue to be a big part of the Hereford industry through his progeny.

A prominant 254E son from the same dam as 135D, 150Z. This combination has produced excellent females as expected and well muscled bulls. Owned with Bygrove’s, Lloydminster.

101J was the first calf from one of the most productive cows in our herd, 38G. He has been a very good source for calving ease, hair coat and style without losing performance.

We purchased 2N along with Pat and Penny Clark from Tim and Diane Westerlund, at the East Central Bull Sale in Oyen. 2N has sired some of the top cows producing sale cattle now.

32P is a curly yellow massive bull that will demand your attention the minute you see him. His mother was a feature heifer purchased at the Supremacy sale and has produced many sale bull calves. 32P has top producing sons and daughters in our herd.

Another son of the great 38G of Conrads. This is currently her sixth herd sire in 8 years. He combines the AAA marbling of 135D bloodlines and his sire 78K was a trait leader at +6. 185P has a large number of females producing in our herd.

43T was purchased from XTC Herefords in the first Hereford Genes Event at Farmfair. I asked Byron to send up a herd bull calibre bull to this event and he did. 43T will be used extensively in our herd through his sons and daughters.

Take advantage of the newest genetics available combined with proven pedigrees from foundation females. All livestock on the ranch are raised around horses and are trail broke but will be quiet and seen many afoot by sale day. Idol was purchased in the Longmuir Production Sale as a yearling stallion prospect in 2005. That year his mother had the high selling offspring in 4 different age groups. This foundation mare has produced the consistent structure and dispotition we were looking for. After working with Idol as a 2 year old he matches the consistency of Jackie Flair’s offspring. Idol’s colts are big hipped and even tempered.

Dude is an own son of Bet Blue Rock out of Dial Dude Bar, a coal black mare we rate very high. Her mother raised 3 stallions, all have done well. Andy Dechaine purchased this stallion in our sale as a stallion prospect and we were fortunate to be able to get him back. When we stared Dude he was as easy to train as his sire. Dude feels nice under saddle and we are proud of his colts.

A home raised stallion from a Dick Pahl bred mare and a Russ Arthur stallion. When we first tied this guy up as a baby he never pulled back and we wondered if he would lead. He was obliging from day one and we thought he might be stallion material. The first time we saddled him it never bothered him so we rode off. He never looked back. Due to this disposition we used him extensively and are glad we did. His colts are a pleasure to train and are fancy to boot!
