MOVE-IN PROCEDURES Due to the substantial number of people moving in during a short period of time, it is VERY important that these procedures are followed.

1

Drop-Off – Movers and CAs will assist in unloading your luggage into speed packs. The CAs will

put a label on the speed pack and give you a matching label to track your speed pack. Drivers will be given a green wristband and directed to turn right on Jarvis street to the nearby paid parking spaces.

2

Check-In – Have your ID’s ready. One of

our staff will check your ID, provide you with a blue wristband, index card and direct you to the next station.

4

3

Green/Photo – Our staff will take a photo

of you which will be saved on our security system, stamp the index card provided and direct you to the next station.

Red/Outstanding Payments – At this station, any outstanding balances must be cleared in

order to receive the stamp on the index card to move on to the next station. Certified funds only!

5

Orange/ Outstanding paperwork – Our

staff will check all documents for any outstanding documentation such as: guarantor forms, enrollment confirmation, meal plan addendums and/or other documents.

7

6

Blue/Keys – You are almost done with the

move-in procedure! Receive your welcome/key packet and you are good to go. *We strongly recommend you take a few minutes to read all the important information in your move-in package.

Speed Pack Pick up – During this last step, you will use your speed pack label to match with

your speed pack. The movers and CA’s shall accompany you to your suite to unload your luggage. Welcome home!

WHAT IS YOUR LEASE STATUS AT YOUR DAY OF ARRIVAL? We hope that all our residents take advantage of the few weeks before arrival to compete your registration. By having a complete registration your day of arrival and check in will be quick and easy.  Residents who have a completed and executed a lease with original documentation and with all full prepayment are considered completed This will require you have a completed registration application, a full signed and executed lease with originals provided to Parkside and paid last month rent, paid first month rent, and paid first semester food plan. If you have fully completed all the required steps for your lease prior to the arrival date, you will be able to move quickly through the drop off and check in stations. .  Individuals who require parts of the Lease Documentation and or payments to be completed prior to receiving keys. If you have partially completed the requirements you will move through your arrival quickly yet will require to stop in at the various stations to complete the details. Your move in will still be rather quick if all the documentation is available and you will progress quickly through to the drop off and check in station This may require a number of steps from you and/or Guarantors. This may delay your collection of keys. We will make every effort to keep this process fluid and comfortable. Remember to have all required documentation with you. We do highly recommend that you forward any outstanding documentation prior to your arrival.

THE ABCs of MOVE IN

A

Arrive during your appointment time We have scheduled arrival times by floor in an effort to control the number of people attempting to move into the building at any given time. This will only work if residents arrive during their appointed time and not earlier or later. Please help us make Move-In run smoothly by arriving on your assigned date and time!

Bring people to help you?

B

We want the move-in process to be as efficient as possible. There shall be movers available on-site ready to assist with the unloading and delivering your item to your suite. However, once you have unloaded your items from your car, you are required to move your car from the drop-off point and head to the public parking. This will allow others to take the opportunity of unloading their items as this is a busy downtown intersection and we need to keep traffic moving.

C D E

Communicate with your Roommates Talk to your roommates before you move-in about common items you can share. For example, you don’t want to end up with 4 shower curtains! See page 5 for some suggestions on what to bring.

Do NOT bring a moving truck or trailer attached to vehicle. Due to the limited space for unloading and parking vehicles, we cannot accommodate large moving trucks or trailers in the unloading area.

Ease your move by bringing the necessities. If you are not in a studio unit, remember that you are sharing a space with other residents. Bring only what you will need for your own bedroom. You can make decisions regarding common room items with your roommates. See page 5 for some suggestions on what to bring.
