CREATING A RESPECTFUL COMMUNITY
At Centennial Place, we value self-respect and respect towards fellow residents and our community property. This means considering the needs and boundaries of others while taking responsibility for your actions. Remember, our shared spaces are meant to be enjoyable for everyone, so let's work together to maintain a respectful atmosphere.
Key Principles of Respect:
Respect Personal Space: Be mindful of noise levels, and keep common areas clean and tidy.
Treat Others with Kindness: Everyone deserves to feel safe and valued.
Community Property: Take care of shared facilities. Report any damage or concerns to Residence Assistants.
BASIC RULES
Centennial Place adheres to federal, provincial, and municipal regulations regarding alcohol and cannabis use. To ensure everyone's safety and comfort, we ask all residents to follow these guidelines:
Alcohol and cannabis are not allowed in common areas such as hallways, study rooms, or lounges. Residents must respect the Canadian legal drinking age and adhere to laws governing cannabis consumption. Responsible use is essential; residents should never pressure others to participate.
Quiet hours are a cornerstone of living at Centennial Place, designed to support academic success, well-being, and a respectful community environment. The purpose of quiet hours extends beyond just keeping noise levels down it’s about fostering mutual respect and consideration among all residents.
Living in a community means acknowledging that everyone has different schedules, study habits, and personal needs. By respecting quiet hours, you contribute to a peaceful atmosphere that supports not only your success but that of your peers as well. It’s a shared responsibility that reflects our commitment to each other as part of a community.
During exam periods, 24/7 quiet hours are enforced to ensure that residents have a conducive environment for focus and preparation.
