Since the site is at the entrance of the campus. I want to crate an entrance plaza which can make people have some interesting activities here. My design is to build a asymmetric wall with many cuts, and each cut has different material in it, such as glass, mirror or just a hole. Also, to Emphasize the direction of the entrance, there is a slight slope toward the door and a gutter at the end of the slope. The doors at the end of the path is to make sure no motors can enter the campus, but all bikes can go through smoothly.

PROJECT LIGHT PRACTICE-------REFLATION When we're told to do a project related to Japanese culture, I immediately think of the Senbon Torii. To present the ten of thousand of Toriis, I came up with an idea to use the mirror and the unidirectional glass to build the vision of this magnificent view.
Without lights, you can only see the unidirectional glass as a mirror.
From the other side, the light will pass the unidirectional glass.
When the light come from the inside,it'll create multiple reflections between two mirrors.
As the result, it'll lead to multiple images of the Toriis.

SKETCH OF THE BRIDGE
SECTION 4 DESIGNS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
INSPiRATION As the freshman of the college. Our first large assignment is to design a bridge out of paper and glue. Which is needed to be loaded. Since we don't have any professional knowledge, we may need some inspiration to finish the job. My first idea was to draw an outline of a box, then put some diagonal support on it. But it was my big mistake that I didn't consider which load it should be taken. Eventually, it collapses as the wrong load put on.

COMPOSITION OF THE BEAM
DESIGNS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
APPLICATION
In the structure experimental class ,we were asked to do the similar design. But this time we'll have to come up with a paper beam. And we also have to estimate how much load it could take.
Since the load is concentrated in the middle of the beam. The moment at that point will be the maximum, because of that we design 6 paper rolls arranged in axis to against the bending moment and also some detail to deal with the shear force.
As the result, our beam bears the load almost as we expect. But it cracks from the side since we're too focus on the moment and didn't engage in much effort to solve the shear strain. It's a little bit shame, but we still learn a lot from it.

COMBINATION
The assignment of the fluid mechanics experiment is to build an excavator using the Pascal's principle. We took a little time to try out which material is better for the design and also consider about the price. I think the difficulty was how to enhance the angle of two relative beams and also reduce the pressure on the syringes. We had found out that the more we grab the heavier the head is, then the syringes can't hold the pressure and break down. However we still fulfill the task in time.

DESIGNS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
arts in science
Although drawing isn’t highly related to civil engineering, but there are some experimental data need to be present by graphics. For example, after finishing the measurements of a building we’ll have to analysis those data and transfer them into the floor plan then do the after research.
