CANFORD FIBRE FIELD TERMINATION RACKMOUNT CASE Designed to facilitate a fast, easy and effective solution for installing hybrid fibre connectors on site and eliminates the need for pre-terminated cable assemblies. The boxes come complete with up to 8 x Lemo 3K.93C EDW or FMW cable assemblies pre-fitted in either a flat or angled 2U front panel. The SMPTE cable enters the chassis via rear cable glands and the strain relief is secured to the clamping post. The electrical cables are then terminated directly to the AMP connector provided on the internal bulkhead. The fibre cables terminate directly to the SC coupler on the same bulkhead using SENKO XP Fit Plus connectors or alternatively via SC tails which are spliced to the incoming fibre using the internal splice tray. This system not only provides improved protection to both the electrical and fibre connections which are secured within the case but also allows for quick and easy replacement/repair of any failed SMPTE connectors. 50-2168

NEW CANFORD FIBRE SMPTE 311 SPLICE ENCLOSURE These wall/ceiling mountable enclosures will be manufactured to accept up to 8 incoming SMPTE 311M cables and are designed to enable the respective fibre and electrical core to be broken out to LC, SC or ST bulkheads and 6 pin Mate-N-Lok panel connectors. Similar to our range of rack mountable field termination boxes they offer not only the possibility of a “plug and play approach but also simplify the process of on-site installation and maintenance. They are particularly useful in installations where depth is an issue as the SMPTE cable can be brought away from the rear of the panel then terminated elsewhere in a safe and secure manner. The enclosures are also provided with a shroud to offer additional protection against accidental damage to the breakout connections. The enclosures come supplied with the required fibre patch cords, electrical crimp contacts and splice protector sleeves to help facilitate easy installation.

RANGE EXTENDING ACTIVE OPTICAL HDMI CABLES NEW CANFORD RANGE INCLUDES ARMOURED VERSIONS Active optical HDMI cables are intended for applications where longer cable-run lengths than those obtainable with standard copper HDMI cables are required. They are also useful where the cable needs to pass through environments with high electrical interference. They offer a considerably more elegant and cost-effective solution for long cable runs than CAT5E cable with converter box systems. Applications include professional AV systems interconnection and indoor and outdoor digital signage and kiosks, plus home theatre systems in larger properties.

CANFORD ACTIVE OPTICAL CABLES - HDMI 2.0 Terminated with micro HDMI type D connectors and supplied with adapters to fit full-size, type A, HDMI connectors. A USB to DC power cable and a cable pulling tool are also included. Intended to aid fixed installation; the micro HDMI connectors reduces the likelihood of snagging as the cable is pulled through conduit, fed through voids or behind plaster board. Other benefits may include applications where cables must pass through congested and/or small apertures, such as internally wired brackets and mounts. These CPR certified cables are available in a range of lengths from 10 to 100 metres. They handle 18Gbps and 4K at 60Hz, with 48-bit colour-depth and 3D capabilities. Audio can be transmitted at 8-channel PCM, Dolby Digital True HD, or DTSHD Master Audio.

CANFORD ACTIVE OPTICAL CABLES - HDMI 2.0 - Armoured Deployable Designed for rental and stage use, these cables are 5.8mm in diameter with a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) jacket. Under the jacket, a layer of Kevlar surrounds a flexible, stainless-steel conduit that protects the core of the cable against rodents and provides crush resistance up to 200kg. Additional Kevlar is placed between wires within the conduit for added strength. Good flexibility is maintained with a bend radius of 45mm. All lengths are terminated with HDMI type A connectors. No external power is required. Cables are available in a range of lengths from 10 to 100 metres. They support 18Gbps and 4K at 60Hz, with 48-bit colourdepth and 3D capabilities. Audio can be transmitted at 8-channel PCM, Dolby Digital True HD, or DTS-HD Master Audio.

CABLE DATA & ETHERNET CANFORD CAT5E-F-J CATEGORY 5E DATA CABLE Stranded conductor, screened Multi-circuit deployable Cat5E cables, for both studio and touring/OB applications, based on Canford’s CAT5E-F screened flexible cable.

31-884

The heavy duty version (formerly called ‘touring’) uses the standard CAT5E-F 6.2mm diameter flexible cable, with colour coded and numbered individual jackets. The overall jacket has a tough layer of PUR (polyurethane) for abrasion resistance. Canford uses PUR on many cable designs to provide excellent wearing characteristics in the harsher environment of outside broadcast and touring applications

31-888

The flexible version (formerly called ‘studio’) has a design optimised to give the best possible flexibility, and uses the CAT5E-F-M 5.8mm diameter cable, with colour coded and numbered individual jackets. The overall jacket is soft PVC for optimum flexibility. 31-894

CANFORD CAT5E-F CATEGORY 5E DATA CABLE Stranded conductor, screened - Deployable Increasing use of network and data cables between audio and video devices on location calls for a Category 5E cable that is designed specifically for deployable use. Basic Category 5E F/UTP is a relatively inflexible installation cable, and even the slightly more flexible patchcord type still has very poor handling characteristics. This Category 5E cable has been designed specifically for the professional audio and video user, and is intended to handle like a typical microphone cable.

31-850

CANFORD CAT5E-F-M CATEGORY 5E DATA CABLE Stranded conductor - Miniature, Flexible A reduced size version of Canford CAT5E-F, designed specifically for installations where a very flexible screened Category 5E cable is required. The core construction and jacket material is identical to CAT5E-F; the difference is only in the jacket thickness. Because of the reduced jacket wall thickness, this cable is not recommended for deployable applications. Ideal solution for internal rack wiring.

31-860

CANFORD CAT5E-R CAT 5E DATA CABLE Stranded conductor, screened - Deployable, ruggedised 31-948

This specialist version of Cat5E SF/UTP (foil and braid screen) has a very tough polyurethane outer jacket, and has moderate flexibility. The jacket is two-layer, the inner layer is low fire hazard material, so the cable can be classed as ‘low fire hazard’. It also differs from standard Cat5E construction in that it has two screens; a foil and a braid.

Once fitted into a rack, this provides both useful information to the end user and additional, cost-effective marketing for the installer. The custom screen-printing service is ideally suited to single or multiple colour applications where the volumes are higher (20+) and the print remains the same across the entire batch.

ENGRAVING BY CANFORD Following substantial investment in the latest Trotec Laser Engraving machine incorporating both CO2 and Fibre technology Canford are now able to offer an in-house custom engraving service. With a working area of 1000 x 610mm and the capability to mark a wide variety of metals and finishes with very fine detailing we can achieve not only basic labelling but also intricate customer logos and designs. For more information or a quote please contact the Custom Metalwork sales office via email on custommetal@canford.co.uk. Alternatively contact the sales team.
