FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: Does Green-GO have a central matrix like most other systems? A: Green-GO does not have a central matrix which results in a substantial cost saving and removes a potential single point of failure. They also do not have base stations. Instead, every Green-GO device is driven by an identical software engine, storing all configuration and settings in the memory of each device. Q: Is there a way to program the system offline? A: You can program the system offline using the ‘Control’ software and then upload it to all devices on site. You can then locally or remotely change the ‘User’ assignment of each device can be locally or remotely changed to pull in the individual profile for a particular member of the group. Q: Can belt packs be cloned? A: Yes, you can clone the complete setting and even assign the same ‘User’ settings to multiple belt packs either locally or remotely. Q: What is GPIO and what is it used for? A: The GPIO connectors on the rear of various Green-GO devices offer 2 sets of opening or closing contacts. These can be used to trigger functions on other non-Green-GO equipment or, alternatively, it allows remote devices to trigger a Green-GO function. Q: How long do batteries for wireless belt packs last? A: Green-GO uses 1800mAh Lithium ion batteries which give around six hours of continuous use from a full charge. Operating times can vary depending on screen brightness and headphone level. Batteries are designed to be hot swapped and the BC6 6-way charger offers a convenient way to charge up to six batteries simultaneously. Q: What sort of distance can I expect to get with green go wireless? A: RF coverage is typically 50m – 300m depending on the local environment. Additional remote antennas can be used to increase RF range if needed. Contact: UK Sales: +44 (0)191 418 1122

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS CONTINUED... Q: Can I put Green-GO on my own IT network and does is need special switches? A: Green-GO intercom has very low data usage so will sit on virtually any data network without slowing or crashing the system. All wired devices require Power over Ethernet which is supplied by PoE switches. Green-GO will work with your favourite brand of PoE switch. Alternatively, Green-GO’s own PoE switches are very reliable and offer durable Neutrik Ethercon connectors. Q: What is the maximum density of a Green-GO DECT wireless system? A: This is heavily dependent on RF environment, in ideal conditions we would typically expect up to 20 connections, IE: 20 belt packs with single pairings or for roaming: 10 belt packs attached to two antennas each. Q: Can I use Green-GO anywhere in the world? A: Wired Green-GO products can be used worldwide. Wireless Green-GO operates in the DECT 1.9GHz spectrum and can be operated license-free in the following countries: Europe, South Africa, much of Asia, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand (10 channels), the USA & Canada (5 channels) and Japan (J-DECT). Q: How do I pair a wireless belt pack to an antenna? A: Pairing a WBPX wireless belt pack to a WAA antenna can be done either via the ‘wireless control’ software which required all devices to be connected via Ethernet or USB respectively. Alternatively, pairing can be done manually: • Press and hold the little red button on the rear of the antenna for two seconds. The Status LED which was flashing green will begin to flash red. • On the belt-pack, go to the Setup Menu/Connection/ and scroll to the slot you want to use for pairing the antenna and select ‘Start Pairing.’ • Once the pairing is complete, the display will read ‘Registered’ and the Antenna’s name will appear in that slot. NOTE: it can take a few seconds for the display to update the slot. Q: How do I update the firmware of a wireless belt pack? A: Most Green-GO devices can be updated over the network via their Ethernet connection. However, the WBPX talks to your communications network through its paired 26-773 Green-GO-WAA, therefore it cannot currently be updated through the network and requires a USB connection to perform this task. • Download the relevant firmware for the device from: greengodigital.com/downloads. • Load Green-GO ‘Update Connection’ software on to your computer and insert a USB cable into an available socket. • Power up the WBPX while holding down the bottom right hand button. The belt pack will power up in ‘boot’ mode. • Connect the WBPX to the USB cable - the readout at the bottom of the software should indicate connection via USB. • Select the ‘Update USB’ function at the top of the page, which will open up a window to locate the firmware you want to flash to the device. Click on the firmware and the installation will start – takes around a minute. • When the install is complete, power cycle the belt pack.
