WHAT IT MEANS TO BE

#JESUITEDUCATED Academic and career goals are important. But so are opportunities to challenge yourself to become a wiser, more compassionate individual. What are your personal beliefs? What really drives you in life?

HOLISTIC. HUMANISTIC. INCLUSIVE.

College is about much more than your “9 to 5” self—it’s also about your “5 to 9.”

Who are you when the school day ends? An education for justice Life and death. Good and evil. Wealth and poverty. Justice and injustice. At Canisius, fundamental truths are explored on a deep level. You’ll be asked to reflect on what kind of person you want to be—in your profession and in your community. And you’ll be encouraged to put your faith and values into action.

Believing that everything we do serves a higher purpose

Canisius welcomes students of any and all faith backgrounds—you don’t need to be Catholic or even Christian to reap the benefits of a Jesuit education. You don’t have to consider yourself religious either. Through retreats and service opportunities, you can examine worldly issues through a Jesuit lens, put your values into action, and learn more about yourself in the process.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion Consistent with our Catholic, Jesuit mission and identity, we stand in solidarity with and advocate for everyone of all abilities, identities, life experiences and perspectives. We strive to create a culture of acceptance, awareness, learning, respect and understanding, both inside and outside the classroom.
