Get up close and personal with a beluga whale Animal Behavior, Ecology & Conservation Our ABEC program is the first of its kind in North America. Under the guidance of stellar faculty, students travel the globe to study animal behavior in the real world, all within the context of animal welfare and conservation. Students walk in the footsteps of Jane Goodall studying chimpanzees in Tanzania. They observe marine mammals in Alaska. They conduct daily research on gorillas at the Buffalo Zoo, and on beluga whales at Marineland of Canada. Students gain valuable experience in the field and conduct hands-on research with some of the most amazing animals on the planet.
