NEW SENIOR MANAGEMENT IN OLYMPIC SHIPPING AS
DEAR READER
Christimas is again upon us and you are now reading the 10th Edition of the Olympic Magazine. This time only in digital edition. The magazine will as usual provide all employees in Olympic an insight into what has happened within the company throughout the year. We hope you enjoy the reading! Thanks to Cann AS for design and layout, and to our own Monica Eide who has written most of the articles in this edition. For photos and greetings sent to us from all the vessels, thank you all for the contribution. We welcome new stories and photos in the year to come! We hereby wish all our readers a Merry Christimas and a Happy New Year! The editors.

us able to participate in the growth within renewable energy. We have already joined this growing industry and at the moment, two vessels are operating within the offshore wind industry. The newly signed Paris climate agreement was launched as a success. It may provide a faster replacement of coal power through the building of offshore wind farms and use of natural gas. Within fisheries, we have seen a different and good market with low energy prices and high fish prices. Olympic Prawn, who has been in the company´ s fleet since 1999, was sold in November. Within krill, the Omega-3 which is the end market for most of our products, have experienced stagnant growth, but the foresight for 2016 is significantly better and Rimfrost AS has launched several new products. For the offshore industry 2016 will be a challenging year, and we will experience changes. Our goal is to be among the best, and emerge strengthen from this crisis. No one should be in doubt that the oil and gas industry will remain as the most important industry for Norway in decades to come. OLYMPIC CHRISTMAS MAGAZINE 2015

NAMING CEREMONY OLYMPIC BIBBY
It was strong wind when the subsea vessel Olympic Bibby began crossing the small canal leading to the port of Fornavåg at one pm April 9th. Many people were on the pier to watch the entrance of the vessel, since it was a very difficult maneuver. The opening of the port ´ s mouth of 22 metres let the giant og 19 metres wide pass. In the opinion of those who watched, it was quite a feat! But, despite this, the vessel slid smoothly and precisely to position itself perfectly at the pier. Congratulations to the Olympic Bibby crew! It was the first vessel of Olympic Shipping to be named in Fosnavåg and like all first time, it was beyond special. By Monica Eide
The atmosphere was festive and a certain pride exploded in the heart of everyone when the little band played the national anthem of Norway. The godmother, lady sponsor Connie Brown, crushed the champagne bottle on the first attempt, and she even risked a little speech in Norwegian, when desired to the vessel success and good fortune. The Olympic Bibby’s naming ceremony was led by Ståle Rasmussen – Kleven Verft. Also present in podio were Stig Remøy – Olympic Shipping, Bjørnar Jesent – Master, Johnny Fredriksen- Chief Engineer, and Mike Brown, (Bibby Offshore). After the ceremony, guests were able to see the interior of the vessel. Then, the vessel starts a long term contract with Bibby offshore. Olympic Bibby is a Multifunctional Subsea Support & Construction Vessel, designed to meet the general offshore market, with diesel electric frequency controlled propulsion, thrusters

OLYMPIC DELTA: LUCK ON EVERY SEA
Olympic Delta is the name of the new subsea vessel of Olympic Shipping AS, delivered by Kleven Verft AS. The name came from the association with the American company Delta Subsea. The vessel is designed by Marin Teknikk and features large capacity of crane, large deck with 900 square meters and facilities of ROV. The naming ceremony was held on July 4 at 4:00 p.m. at the port Allmenningskaia in Fosnavaag. This is the second vessel of Olympic Shipping where the naming ceremony happened in the small town port. The first was Olympic Bibby. As occurred with Olympic Bibby, the naming ceremony took place in a sunny and
windy
day.

with accuracy inside the harbor, the godmother Cassye Reegs from Houston/ USA broke the champagne on the first attempt and wished “luck on every sea”. “Bergsøy Skulekorps” ensured the rhythm with cheerful marches. In his speech, managing Director of Kleven, Ståle Rasmussen, stressed the importance of cooperation of suppliers: “When you build a vessel like this, it is all about collaboration, we need to work together, when a market is tough we need to work even better together”. After the ceremony, the ship was open to visitors. The interior impressed by beautifully decorated spaces, designed by Oddlaug Remøy. The first work of the Olympic Delta was in the North Sea.
Legenda: The podium was represented by Chief Engineer Erling Josefsen, Captain Ole Schie, Olympic’s COO Bjørn Kvalsund, Godmother Cassye Reegs, CEO of Olympic Shipping Stig Remøy, Managing Director of Delta Subsea Scott Dingman and Managing Director of Kleven Ståle Rasmussen.

many more years? What are your plans/ perspectives for the near future? I like working in Olympic and I see no reason for that changing. The constant changing of projects on the subsea boats keeps it from getting boring. That’s important. I’ve also had a slow but steady progress up the Olympic ladder starting as a 2nd mate. There is only one more step up I can make onboard now, but I’m in no rush. I’m very lucky to be surrounded by a great marine crew. It makes for a fun day and we keep an eye out for each other. The Capt on a client boat needs to have especially thick skin and a steady foundation to stand on. I’m getting there slowly but surely, and enjoying the ride there.

GREETINGS FROM OLYMPIC HERA Another year has passed, and Christmas is underway. We have been engaged in many different jobs this year. Spanning from pre-lays, rig moves and ROV projects to the more unusual jobs including FSO tow, life boat decommissioning, bottom sampling, and VSP seismic survey. A 150t offshore crane is planned mobilized next year. We hope this will bring us many new tasks and experiences in a challenging offshore spot market. We would like to wish all our colleagues a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Shift A.

GREETINGS FROM OLYMPIC ORION For the Olympic Orion, the first part of the year was characterized by short contracts containing supply duties in the North Sea for Oil Companies like Shell, Premier Oil, CNR, Total E&P UK, ConocoPhillips & Enquest During May & June Olympic Orion carried out a Subsea operation for Statoil on Halten Bank, which contained collection of seabed sampling with steel grab. After visiting the Myklebust yard during June, mobilization was carried out in Oostende, Belgium for a dredging project in Sabetta, Barents Sea. In this project the Olympic Orion served as a floating hotel, were the main marine coordinator station was located, and the deck was used as the warehouse of the projekt. For Olympic Orion the year has ended in the same way as it started. She has carried out supply duties for Peterson from Den Helder Holland and will leave 2015 going in to 2016 serving DONG Energy with Supply duties from Esbjerg to the Danish part of the North Sea. The crew on both shifts onboard Olympic Orion would like to wish all Olympic employees, families and friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

OLYMPIC HERCULES
GREETINGS FROM OLYMPIC HERCULES Christmas is here again. A year goes by so quickly. Last Christmas we were at sea working, This year it’s our turn to celebrate at home with friends and family. We have all experienced a tough year for the industry. A whole lot of time has been spent at anchor or in port. This has given us the opportunity to do plenty of maintenance. This spring we had a comprehensive yard stay in Ulsteinvik. We installed a new stern roller and also had a whole lot of other things done as well. So hopefully the 15 year class in 2017 should go-by quite smoothly. Another special moment this year was when we got a rig-move together with Pegasus, Octopus and Poseidon. This Christmas we specially think of our colleagues that were put on forced leave, hopefully things turn around in 2016. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

GREETINGS FROM OLYMPIC PROMOTER Olympic Promoter had completed her 4 year contract with Petrobras on September and because of the challenging market of today the vessel is anchored at Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro. Even though with this crisis we are facing we are still very optimistic for the bright future. As the saying says “We cannot control the wind but we can direct our sails”. Because we have to minimize the manning this would be our farewell picture for both shifts – till we meet again. Christmas is a season of great joy: a time for remembering the past and hoping for the future. May the glorious message of peace and love fill you with joy during this wonderful season.

OLYMPIC ZEUS
GREETINGS FROM OLYMPIC ZEUS This year started with WOW on rig-move Transocean Arctic in Kristiansund. When the weather was god enough the rig-move was completed. After this it was a prelay job for Blackford Dolphin.
The next
job for us then was chain inspection and replacement on Zafiro Producer located in Equatorial Guinea, West Afrika. The crew change went down in Cameroon. The job lasted for 3 weeks, de-mob in Luba, Bioko. After De-mob we sailed to Las Palmas for crew change. When Zeus was back in North Sea we went to Ulstein yard to mobilize mezzanin deck and ROV 2 for Goliat hookup in Hammerfest.
After Goliat a short
rig-move on Leiv Erikson was done. The next was a long term contract with Svitzer/ Ardent on Grand Canaries Island. The job started 10.06.15 and lasted to 27.11.15. The job was oil salvage for Oleg Naydenov a Russian trawler that founder in April 15 and started to leak oil on 2700 meters water depth. Oleg Naydenov is located 15 nm. South of Maspalomas. Before the job was done at Gran Canaries, the vessel was sent to West Sahara to pick up a wrecked helicopter from the sea bed. This was a job done on behalf of the Spanish Navy. The helicopter had been on a training camp in Africa and on the way home to Gran Canaries fall down outside the cost of West Sahara. The last mount of the year was in South anchorage in Las Palmas, waiting for new jobs around the world. It has been a year with many different jobs for us, and we are hoping the best for 2016. We wish all our colleges at sea and ashore a Marry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

My name is Jessica Lyche. As a Corporate Fundraiser at Doctors Without Borders (MSF), I work with engaging businesses like Olympic Shipping, and their employees, in our work around the world. We are very grateful for the support to our project in Kibera, Kenya. MSF depends heavily on private donations, and the private sector plays a crucial role in financing our projects and thereby saving more lives.
Jessica Lyche is managi ng MSF’s Corporate Fundraisi ng.
Kibera is a slum with a total population of more than 200,000 people. The contrast to our lives at home is striking. The hygienic conditions are terrible. This community has no access to clean water, electricity or basic healthcare. In addition, the slum is harrowed by violence, alcoholism and substance abuse. In the midst of Kibera, MSF has established a clinic where pregnant mothers can give birth safely. Here little Trevor was born in a safe and caring environment. Photo: Jessica Lyche (private)
The standard of the maternity ward is very good and provides services free of charge thanks to the support of private donors. We have also built a playground outside the clinic - to the delight of our smallest patients. Many children receive HIV treatment and have their regular check-ups here. time, children’s laughter is heard at the hospital area.

A patient who made a strong impression on me was little Amina. I met her early one morning together with her mother. Amina has asthma - just like my own daughter. They are both three years old and suffer from the same symptoms: coughing, breathing problems and sleeping difficulties.

My daughter and Amina use the same medication: Ventolin and Flutide. However, because of the abysmal poverty in Kibera, little Amina is facing a much tougher life. For me, Amina represents hope, and became a symbol of how it is possible to make a difference. Olympic Shipping helps us provide free treatment to patients in

slums. Just like Amina .
In 2015, we have assisted 1,000 births in Kibera already. During a typical year, we conduct over 75,000 consultations and give HIV treatment to 4,800 patients. In addition, MSF treats 350 victims of sexual violence annually. Olympic Shipping helps us saving lives. Our patients are very grateful for your support. With best wishes for the summer,
