St Luke’s Anglican Church By Di Ayscough, Guild President St Luke’s Guild Dinner held at the end of August was a huge success, with more than 40 people enjoying a delicious meal and fellowship. The night had laughter, trivia and a guest speaker, Joy Drescher, former Mayor of Beaudesert. Joy entertained with her bush poetry while John King acted as MC and kept the night moving along. Almost $800 was raised towards the ongoing maintenance of St Luke’s in Canungra and we are very grateful to all who participated and gave of their time to help make the function so successful. Wednesday group continues to meet and you will always be made welcome if you would like to join in at 9.30am. It doesn’t matter if you are new to town or have never thought of church as your thing. Just come along for a cuppa and a chat. Coming up on Sunday 6th October is the chance to have your special pet blessed. Reverend Valerie is looking forward to lots of lively creatures coming along (Remember the Vicar of Dibley). If you prefer, just bring along a photo of your pet for a blessing. If you can’t make it to church on Sunday we also meet on Tuesday evenings at 7.00pm. Our doors are open more than just on Sunday. Alternatively feel free to call me on 0418 76 7587 if you ever need someone to chat to.
