Why are you interested in Stark County’s Young Professionals initiative? This is a great way to meet like-minded individuals who want to see their community prosper and grow.

What would you share to encourage other people to join? Networking and learning is important in every field so why not join a forward-thinking initiative that offers fun ways to accomplish that?

Did you grow up in Stark? If so, where? If not, where did you move from and why? I grew up in Portage Lakes which isn’t far. It is a smaller town so I often had to travel to Stark to work or entertainment. I’ve always enjoyed the big yet little city feeling that it gives me. There is so much to do and see yet it isn’t unattainable.

Why do you stay in Stark County, from both a personal and professional point of view? Stark County has a lot to offer from a career and a family standpoint. I like their school districts, the variety of opportunities and the overall constant changes to always be better.

What do you like MOST about Stark County?

There is something for everyone! Whether it’s football, breweries, dining out, festivals or First Friday, Stark County caters to all.

What would you change about Stark County if you could?

I would change the things in Stark County that I would in every county...less homelessness, addiction, lack of mental health treatment and violence.

What do you see as valuable opportunities for YPs in Stark County when it comes to career opportunities, cultural access, leadership or community involvement opportunities? Getting/staying involved with community events, agencies and partnerships to meet others, get hands on experience with the work that is involved and gain a true understanding of what it takes to make each piece thrive.

What would attract more YPs to Stark County?

Open mixers, small events and collaboration on small projects would be in helpful in attracting YPs.

What do you do in the evenings or on the weekends for fun in Stark County or NE Ohio?

I like to dine out at some of the amazing places Stark has to offer like Gervasi, Melange, Twisted Olive etc., watch my children play sports through their schools, attend festivals and events like First Friday and go swimming at places like Dogwood.

Could you see yourself spending your lifetime in Stark County and if not, what would cause you to leave? I could and would. The weather or an amazing job opportunity could tempt me to leave. Otherwise, Stark County is home.
