engaging panel discussion by Stark County leaders from various quadrants of our community. “Too often, business professionals hear the word ‘diversity’ and immediately interpret it as dealing solely with race relations. That’s only one part of the equation,” explained Kelli J. Scott, SCHRA diversity chairperson and workforce planning & diversity coordinator for Aultman Health Foundation.“This conference’s first objective is to introduce attendees to the full spectrum of diversity, including aspects of generational, gender and sexual orientation differences, individuals who are differently-abled and even difference in education and experience level.” Speakers include Mayor William J. Healy II and Robert Torres, director of development for the City of Canton, Dr. Tameka Taylor and Ruth Ramos from Compass Consulting Services, Aimee Belden, director of ystark!, Traci Dunn from The Timken Company and Rev. Mark Simone from the Federated Church in Chagrin Falls among others. The conference will be held at The University Center at Kent State University at Stark and includes a continental breakfast, lunch and other refreshments.

Interested in exhibiting? Conference exhibitors receive all-day registration for one (a $119 value), logo advertising and publicity in conference marketing and one 8 ft. table space for $300. Visit the conference website to secure your space by Oct. 8. Conference registration for SCHRA and Chamber members is $99; non-members may attend for $119. “The Spotlight session that I took the most from was the Strength Finder 2.0 … it came down to the simple phrase of ‘We spend more time working on our weaknesses then truly developing our strengths.’ I am not necessarily a ‘numbers’ person but here was a well-respected author telling me that it was okay, because I have strengths that maybe other people in my company don’t have. It was easier to let that go because of this statement and make me search out my talents to make them strengths.” Chris Kaboth, Whitacre Greer. His many achievements at Walsh include serving as president of the University’s Business Club, member of the University’s Student Government, crew leader for freshmen move-in and orientation, serving as an alumni ambassador, a member of the Walsh University Entrepreneur Experience and as senator to the University’s Residence Hall Association. Christopher Burr, a recent Walsh University graduate, has begun his ystark! Fellowship with Time Warner Cable. The corporate communications major focused on MIS and IT in his studies at Walsh, and now he’s putting those skills to the test with a tech-heavy, twoyear opportunity in Time Warner Cable’s technology service center. The ystark! Fellowship Program is a unique opportunity for undergraduate students who are searching for their first position post-graduation. The Fellowship will offer a true immersion experience – a full-time, salaried, high-exposure work opportunity that offers the benefits of professional development, community service involvement and networking opportunities. Burr will join two other fellows in the program - Aultman Health Foundation and The Repository both began hosting fellows last year. Burr graduated from Walsh University in the spring of 2010 with a B.A. in corpo-

He also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans and locally at the Clean-Up North Canton Park’s Day. Recent internships include working in the information systems and marketing departments of Walsh University, the IT department of Plasticolors, Inc. in Ashtabula, Ohio, the IT department at Kent State University and as auction assistant at Dufina Auctions in Austinburg, Ohio. “As soon as I saw the information about ystark!’s Fellowship Program around campus, I was intrigued. It seemed like the perfect fit for my career interests,” said Burr. He didn’t realize the extensive IT and technology-related positions available locally with Time Warner.“I’m glad that ystark! exposed me to this highly-technical, computer-based position – otherwise I might have overlooked Time Warner as a potential employer!”

Burr is currently deep in training, beginning with an extensive review of the company’s product lines, computer module testing and hands-on call fielding. He’ll complete his training on Aug. 27, when he’ll join other technical operators on “Tier 3,” Time Warner’s most elevated technical support team. “My experience so far at Time Warner has been exceptional. They’ve already discussed opportunities for advancement with me beyond the two-years of the Fellowship Program, including moving into other communication-based departments. They are truly interested in making sure I’m in the right role for me and letting me grow within the company,” said Burr. Burr is a transplant from Ashtabula County, and he’s eager to get started with the community involvement aspect of his Fellowship experience.“I always stay involved. Interaction is my thing. I want the full experience in my career and in my community. I believe that when you have a connection, you have the commitment. When I made the decision to move here after graduation, I wanted to make sure I was really connected to the area.” Burr currently lives in North Canton, a close commute to Time Warner Cable’s Belden Village location.

THANK YOU for another One of a Kind Celebration! The 47th anniversary of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival is being celebrated this year with great enthusiasm. The festivities will undoubtedly provide memories to last a lifetime – especially for our special guests, the 2010 Class of Enshrinees. As Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson, Dick LeBeau, Floyd Little, John Randle, Jerry Rice, and Emmitt Smith are immortalized in the halls of “America’s Premier Sports Museum and Showplace,” we stop for a moment to reflect on the massive community effort that make this year’s festivities possible. Over 11-days, 700,000 people will enjoy 18 diverse events that produce an economic impact of $30 million on the Canton/Stark County area and nearly $55 million on the State of Ohio. An immeasurable bonus is the pride of Canton being recognized nationally, and even internationally, as

the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the annual Enshrinement Festival events. All of these achievements are possible through a true team effort, and we gratefully acknowledge the members of our team: • Cash and in-kind sponsors who so generously share their marketing dollars to give us the resources needed to plan and stage successful events. • Governmental entities that so willingly provide the materials and manpower to make each event safe. • Media outlets that offer the forum for us to promote our brand and disseminate information. • Professional staffs at the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce

and Pro Football Hall of Fame who have unending passion and commitment to maintaining the success of the Hall and the annual Enshrinement Festival activities. • Volunteers who give incredible amounts of time and expertise to attending to the myriad of details, without any expectation of reward beyond the pride of seeing the fruits of their labors. • Citizens and guests who attend the events with a sense of anticipation and contagious excitement. Heartfelt thanks to each and every person who in any way contributed to the success of the 2010 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival. As a result of your kindness, generosity, and support, it is indeed a One of a Kind Celebration!
