The Appalachian Hydrogen Transportation Conference presented by SARTA, in the heartland of American manufacturing, will provide an outlook from leading companies and organizations. Attendees will leave with a sense as to the opportunities in the fast-growing hydrogen transportation market.

The Stark County Manufacturing Workforce Development Partnership (SCMWDP) is in line to receive up to $930,000 over the next three years as part of The Ohio Manufacturers Association’s (OMA) $23,492,808 award from the Economic Development Administration’s American Rescue Plan Act “Good Jobs Challenge” program, which was announced August 3.

Recently the chapter held its 14th annual client recognition event that honors suc cessful SCORE clients.

The Canton Regional Chapter was estab lished in 1980 as a branch of the Akron Chapter and became a stand-alone chap ter in 1990. Today it includes some 48 sea soned executives. There’s so many organizations, large and small, to get involved with. Whether it’s sitting on boards, volunteering, building a connection to more professionals. There truly is something for everyone in Stark. It’s a great place to dive into the workforce as a tight-knit community. What would attract more YPs to Stark County? More nightlife. I know there’s some infrequent events at night, but my free time is mostly nights and weekends, so those more social, evening events are what we’re looking for.

What would you share to encourage other people to join?

The connections made and lessons learned as a young professional will stick with you for life. People love helping out young, emerging professionals because we are the ones who will eventually be at the top in their positions. Did you grow up in Stark? If so, where? If not, where did you move from and why? I have lived in Stark county my whole life. Why do you stay in Stark County, from both a personal and professional point of view? I stay because it’s familiar, there’s everything I need around me in the county, and it’s the perfect small city where there’s always parking, but big events are still taking place.

What do you do in the evenings or on the weekends for fun in Stark County or NE Ohio? I love attending local events. Farmers markets, concerts, and bars with my friends. Could you see yourself spending your lifetime in Stark County and if not, what would cause you to leave?

What do you like MOST about Stark County?

Gervasi Vineyard’s distillery integrates technical innovation and traditionalism to produce quality spirits that are rooted in their company’s mission, vision and values. With the popularity of bourbon, Gervasi was looking to create distinc tion and differentiation in their bourbon product while respecting the traditional expectations in character. They saw an opportunity to integrate their wine and bourbon crafts through the use of their decommissioned wine barrels to finish aging the bourbon.

Kory worked part-time at Hall Kistler while completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting at Kent State University. After graduating, he joined the tax department as a full-time staff accountant in May 2022. After graduating in May 2022 with a Bach elor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of Mount Union and interning with Hall Kistler for two tax seasons, Court ney joined the firm full-time in July 2022.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Molson Coors have extended their partnership through a multiyear deal that adds Hall of Fame Village.
