The Weatherly Area School Board, at their Wednesday August 11 meeting, approved the resignation of Teresa L. Young (as) superintendent, effective November 7, 2021. She will begin her new job as superintendent of the Keystone School District on November 8. Keystone is in Knox Borough in Clarion County. Young, who was present at the meeting, explained that she was “moving closer to home.” The Keystone School District has 934 students, in two buildings.
Young was hired to be superintendent in March of 2017 after a three month-long search. She was chosen from among 11 applicants. She replaced Thomas McLaughlin, who had left to become the human resources director at the Palmerton Area School District. Young came to lead the Weatherly Area School District after working in the Harmony Area School District, near La Jose Pennsylvania, for 19 years. School board president Girard Fewins thanked Young See WASB, page 7 BEAUTIFUL BOATING WEATHER was on tap on Sunday for the Parade of Boats headquartered at Nick’s Lake House in Lake Harmony.
