Two brand new fire engines were on proud display at the Penn Forest Township municipal building, ahead of August’s supervisors meeting. Fire Company members, officers and township supervisors stand between Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Company #2’s tanker and Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Company #1’s engine. Many of these volunteers spent long hours planning the finances for these two pieces, and designing the best possible trucks for the township’s safety. Township supervisors put together the numbers that allow the township budget to bear the payments for this apparatus — a total of over $1.4 million for the pair, to be paid for yearly for 20 years.
