THIS CULTURAL POWERHOUSE ON THE MEDITERRANEAN WILL KEEP YOU BUSY FOR THE WHOLE SEMESTER. Stroll the beaches, climb the Sagrada Familia, try something new in one of the city’s bustling markets, brush up on your Spanish, wind through the ancient streets full of history and explore the modern tree-lined boulevards, and cheer on the hometown football club.

MY GLOBAL CITY The My Global City events calendar offers a wide-range of CAPA-led and self-led activities and social events each week. All events connect to one or more of CAPA’s learning outcomes: diversity, globalization, urban environments, and social dynamics.

Events include a walking tour through the labyrinth of streets in the oldest parts of the city with a visit to Barcelona Cathedral, a visit to the Spanish Civil War Bunkers, including a discussion of the Historical Memory movement in Spain, Raval Street Art Tour, a visit to Parc Guell, and a visit to the Picasso Museum. Other activities vary by semester and reflect the local events taking place at the time.

EXCURSIONS Included in the program cost are full-day excursions to Montserrat, including transportation, a zip train to Cova de Sant Joan with guided visits and entrances, and to Tarragona, with transportation, entrances and guided visit to the Museum, Forum, Circus and Amphitheater.
