529 Savings Plan** The NYS 529 College Savings Plan is a taxadvantaged College Savings plan that can be set up any time for a school-aged child. It is a great tool that we can set up for you.

Tips for Parents We help you teach your children the value of saving by making it fun! Here are some tips: • Use play money for preschoolers and toy cash registers to teach them how to count. • Give children pocket change to make small purchases to introduce the concept of money. • Provide a weekly allowance starting at age 5; offer to match what they save and deposit it into their Credit Union Savings Account. • Teach school-age children how to budget their money to save, spend and give to charity. • Reward your tween for doing odd jobs and encourage them to deposit half of their earnings into their Credit Union Savings Account. • Enlist your tween’s help to compare prices to get the best deals when shopping. * CAP COM Financial Services – Securities and annuities products offered through LPL Financial and its affiliates; Member FINRA/SIPC, a Registered Investment Advisor. It’s Never Too Early to Start Saving for College Whether your child is 12 days or 12 years old, it’s never too early to start saving for college. The sooner you start saving money to help pay for this major expense, the more money you’ll be able to rely on when the time comes. Once you receive a Social Security Number for your newborn, you can open a Savings Account at Capital Communications. With the number of programs we offer our youth members, your child’s savings will grow with them!

Youth Savings Programs Capital Communications realizes the important role financial education plays in life, and that’s why we offer products and programs for kids of all ages. Our Youth Accounts help children manage money and, as they grow, so will their savings.

Stash your child’s savings in a CertifiKID! Your child’s money will grow faster than in a regular savings account. Add money at any time! *Penalty for early withdrawals. Available in 18- or 36-month term.

Great Grades Bring in your child’s report card and we’ll deposit $10 into his or her account! Your child can earn a total of $40 every year ($10 per quarter) for submitting a report card each term until they graduate from high school.

Reading Programs During winter and summer months, children can earn up to $15 for reading up to five books ($3 per book). The program runs twice per year and is a great way to get kids to read and save some money for college!

College Savings Club Account

A great way to systematically save over time. Just $10 or $20 every paycheck can add up to thousands over a 10-year period.

Club Accounts are underneath the “umbrella” of your main Savings Account so that you can keep funds separate without

having to remember multiple account numbers. Deposits can be made through Payroll Deduction and withdrawals can be made at any time. Keep a balance of $100 or more and earn dividends.
