Analysis of BMW M5 (2003–2010) Posted on July 4, 2013 by John
The E60 M5 was introduced in 2003, with a V10 engine intended to link the car with the BMW Sauber Formula One team. The E60 M5 was the world’s first production sedan to feature a V10 petrol engine. As with some of its predecessors, the E60 variant of the M5 was both the quickest and fastest 4door sedan in the world at the time of its release.

Analysis of BMW M5 (2003–2010)
The multiple award-winning S85 engine produces 373 kW (500 hp) and 520 N•m (380 lb•ft) of torque. The engine and transmission were designed from scratch for this particular model, they are not based off other models. The rear-wheel-drive 2010 BMW M5 is powered by a scintillating 5.0-liter V10 that pumps out a maximum 500 hp at 7,750 rpm and 383 pound-feet of torque at 6,100 rpm. Interestingly, the full 500 hp is only available when selected by the driver using the MDrive performance settings; the default setting is 400 hp, the same output as the previous M5′s V8. The standard transmission is the seven-speed sequential manual gearbox (SMG), a single-clutch automated manual that can be placed in a fully automatic mode or operated manually via the gearshift lever or steering-wheel-mounted paddles. A conventional sixspeed manual transmission is a no-cost option. Unique M5 features include a wider track, unique body panels, 7-speed SMG III sequential manual gearbox, also known as a single-clutch automated manual transmission, a color heads up display [HUD] featuring navigation, control messages, speed, rpm and gear selection information, automated seat side bolsters, heated/ventilated seats and power rear curtain. The larger, flared front guards on either side also featured cooling vents, reminiscent of the 1970s BMW http://www.autoradiodvdgpstv.com/analysis-of-bmw-m5-2003-2010/(第 2/6 页)2013/7/8 11:58:22

CSL. The wheels were of a standard 19″ diameter with quad exhaust pipes to the rear. Body Styles and Interior The 2010 BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the midsize 5 Series luxury sedan. Standard equipment includes 19-inch wheels, performance tires, adaptive xenon headlamps, front and rear parking sensors, M-Sport settings, auto-dimming mirrors, a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, heated front seats, power sport seats, front-seat memory, leather upholstery, the iDrive electronics interface, a navigation system with real-time traffic and voice commands, Bluetooth and a 13-speaker surround-sound system with a CD player. Options include soft-close automatic doors, keyless ignition/entry, fold-down rear seats, upgraded power front seats, a power rear sunshade and manual rear side shades, extended leather trim, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, an upgraded sound system, satellite radio and an iPod interface. As we all know, because of the consideration of safety and convenience, GPS navigation system and bluetooth phone call become the tendency of the auto development. Moreover, the type of player I recommend BMW M5 owners to install here has both GPS and bluetooth and will cost you much less. Drivers can listen to the music or watch a movie with the GPS working. You can add only a HD touch screen BMW DVD Player to your car without any modification of other parts and get all the functions mentioned above. Or even there is a function of digital TV with different tuners for you to meet your special needs. And the bluetooth will allow you to make or answer an important free hand phone call.
