The Mitsubishi ASX (Active Smart Crossover) is aimed at buyers looking for something between a Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback and an Outlander. The idea is simple, as well as attracting new buyers.

Third generation (2010–present) The third generation RVR is a compact crossover vehicle, first released in the Japanese domestic market on February 17, 2010. In Europe, Australia, Jamaica and Latin America it is sold as the Mitsubishi ASX(an abbreviation of “Active Sports Crossover”), and as the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in the United States. In Canada it is sold as the Mitsubishi RVR, while in Puerto Rico it keeps both the ASX and Outlander Sport titles as well. It is a return to the original concept of offering the platform used for the longer Mitsubishi Outlander with reduced seating capacity to five people, while sharing components of the longer vehicle, demonstrating a corporate decision to return Mitsubishi to smaller, fuel efficient vehicles in favor of larger, truck-based products. It was also exhibited at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show in September the same year.In Japan, buyers must pay an additional tax due to the exterior dimensions exceeding Japanese government reguations for cars classified as “compact”. Mitsubishi has concentrated on emphasizing the RVR’s fuel economy and low emissions, as part of the company’s plan to reposition itself as a maker of smaller and more efficient cars, in contrast to its previous successes building large SUVs.The vehicle is both eligible for an eco-car tax reduction in Japan, and Euro-5 compliant in Europe. In Australia the ASX received a 5 out of 5 star safety rating from ANCAP. Initially it’s rather hard to tell the ASX apart from an Outlander. In fact as the photo below shows they are nearly identical from the front, minus a few minor details. This is a good thing as the Outlander’s styling has been well received. From the rear the ASX looks like a raised Lancer Sportback but with more elegance in its lines. Moving inside, the interior is typical Mitsubishi at first glance. The same style centre console and air conditioning controls that we’ve seen in the Lancer for the last few years still make the cut. Thankfully, Mitsubishi has added soft touch plastics around the dashboard and doors which goes a long way to give ASX a more upmarket feel. usual plus 16-inch alloys, climate control air conditioning with rear seat ducts, cruise control and a 4-speaker AM/FM radio/CD/MP3 audio system with both auxiliary and USB inputs. Mitsubishi’s Multi-Communication System (MMCS) acts as an all-in-one system for audio, satellite navigation, bluetooth and more. It makes use of a 40GB hard disk drive (of which you can use 15GB to store music) and 7-inch LCD display. Although a great system overall, the use of buttons instead of knobs for volume and all other controls can become a tad tedious. The main benefit of this large high-quality display is its link with a rear view camera (a life-saving feature that should ideally be mandatory on all SUVs). However, that system is too expensive. There can be another way out with much less money. Happyshoppinglife’s Car DVD Player with GPS Navigation, bluetooth and even digital TV. It means that you can listen to the music or let your companies see a video with the Mitsubishi GPS navigation open. And if you like, you can also choose the type with the digital TV.I guess it’s a great improvment for your car if you do so as you can enjoy the convenience of freehand calling through the bluetooth as well. Comparing with what said above, I believe that it’s very easy for you to make the right dicision.
