Cleansing your skin works best if you do it twice. Seems like a big commitment, but it’ll really help. Use an oil cleanser to remove any make-up or grime from your skin. Then follow up with a foam, cream or milk cleanser – preferably one with a gentle glycolic acid in it – to really get that clean feeling. Glycolic acid, depending on the strength, should be used twice a week.

A toner should be used after cleanser to remove traces of cleansers or to regulate the pH of the skin. The general rule when applying skincare is to apply from the thinnest to the thickest texture. If you
apply a moisturiser first and then a serum on top, the benefit of the serum will be minimal – the moisturiser will block the serum’s active ingredients.
