Entrepreneurial awareness seminar benefits Surigaonon IPs The indigenous peoples (IPs) from Claver town have benefited from the one-day entrepreneurial awareness cum artisan’s training recently led by the Community Relations Division of Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation thru its Binayloay Livelihood Project. The activity was funded by the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) of THPAL in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Surigao del Norte provincial office to help create, enhance, promote and sustain its entrepreneurial transition as not just a mere livelihood but one of the bustling handicraft sources of the province thru the traditional means of a barter system, hence the term “Binayloay” handicraft output from the IPs. The handicrafts being bartered include duyan, baskets, bags, and among others made of rattan and will exchange with items such as rice, footwear, apparel, dressed chicken, pots and pans, canned
