POPCOM signs MOU with gov’t school
The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) Caraga and Bilay National High School (NHS) in Butuan City signed a memorandum of understanding on the implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) as among the strategies of the Philippine Population and Development Program (PPDP), specifically on the Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) – as program thrust which seeks to prevent teenage pregnancies.
The MOU aims to foster a more comprehensive provision of health and development interventions for the students of Bilay National High School. The regional office of POPCOM, on one hand, ensures provision of technical / logistical support during the implementation of various adolescent sexual and reproductive health initiatives in said school.
