According to DTI-Surigao del Norte provincial director Elmer Natad, the agency is ensuring that necessary interventions for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are provided amid the crisis such as selling of One Town, One Products (OTOP) via online display and livestreaming.
The trade expo was also made possible through the assistance of the DTI Negosyo Center coordinators of the municipality of Claver, Bacuag, Placer, Mainit, including Surigao City and the towns of Siargao Island.
“Let us help our local entrepreneurs for the economy to recover because no one is spared from the adverse effect of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Natad.

Meanwhile, the local business stakeholders were thankful for providing them the platform and opportunity to sustain their source of livelihood by offering their products in the digital market in this time of the pandemic.
“We are thanking the DTI for the big help it extended in order for us to showcase the products of Surigao City to the entire Philippines,” said Rubilyn Cellona, member of the Maradjaw Karadjaw Local Producers Association.
