The Irish Shorthorn Society are delighted to introduce the Show Team Challenge Championship with a €1000.00 prize fund & Champions Team trophy for the winner. The competition is designed to encourage Beef Shorthorn breeders nationwide to attend local agriculture shows and help showcase the merits of our wonderful breed. The Show Team Championship is decided on an accumulation of points awarded to breeders / exhibitors who attend the allocated competition shows within their region and All Ireland Show days. (Points are not restricted to 1 animal) There are 24 competition shows spread across 3 regions. ● 8 in Leinster, ● 8 in Munster, ● 8 in Connaught & Ulster. All Ireland shows are open to exhibitors from all of the regions & double points will be awarded in the All Ireland Classes and all the classes at our National Show in Tullamore.
The points system is as follows 1st in Class 30 points 2nd in Class 20 points 3rd in Class 10 points
Overall Show Champion add 10 points Overall Reserve Champion add 5 points Only breeders / exhibitors from their region can win points at their regional shows. With the exception being the All Ireland Classes & Tullamore National Show.
The Prize Fund - Supported by Pedigree Sales online sales platform. 3 Regional Show Team Winners €100.00 each Champion Show Team Runner Up €200.00 Champion Show Team Winner €500.00 plus Champions Trophy Champion & Runner up prize is awarded on most points accumulated. E.g. Runner up can be from the same region as winner. Exhibitors must be a fully paid up member of the Irish Shorthorn Society.
