s we approach Caramoor’s 75th Anniversary in 2020, we are embarking on a comprehensive campus revitalization plan, building on our sense of shared discovery and artistic innovation throughout our grounds. It has always been our goal, beginning with the vision of our founders Lucie and Walter Rosen, to make Caramoor a place for music and a place to gather, to pause, and to reflect. By reconfiguring parking and venue entrances, adding seating and dining amenities, and reinvigorating our beautiful gardens, that vision will be furthered. In addition to focusing on visitor comfort and enjoyment, and inspired by our 2014 outdoor sound art exhibition, we are developing plans to add a new and groundbreaking artistic dimension to our entire campus. Here is a look at our exciting plans to elevate your Caramoor visit and reinvent the way you experience our beautiful grounds, gardens, and concerts.

A GATHERING PLACE AT THE ROSEN HOUSE
A circular Entry Plaza serves as a meeting spot that guides you to the new Box Office, Woodland Garden, Venetian Theater, Rosen House, and anywhere else you want to go. Plus, new parking configurations make it easier to get in and out.
Friends Field becomes a grassy gathering space for concerts and visitors (not cars)! A new arbor means more seating and shade for enjoying music and a landmark sound sculpture by renowned artist Trimpin.
Caramoor’s central route to the Rosen House becomes a pedestrian-only haven that leads to a new open-air plaza adjoining the House, making more space to stroll, sit, and relax with friends and family.
A new Rosen House Plaza will provide a peaceful place to spend time before and after concerts or tours.
A Renewed Respite With new seating, lighting, and concessions, the intersection of Friends Field, the Entry Plaza, and Center Walk creates a hub of activity. A covered stage area allows for more comfort for performers in addition to expanding creative programming on the field.
The Pavilion Terrace will be a newly-created gathering place nestled between the Woodland Garden, Cedar Walk, and the Pavilion. Away from the activity of Friends Field and Center Walk, this plaza will add an area for guests to enjoy a quiet picnic or relax in the secluded atmosphere.
