This Summer, Celebrate the Return of Live Music We’re overjoyed to welcome you back to Caramoor in person this summer for a full season of outdoor concerts! We missed sharing live music with you and showing off our newly renovated grounds. While our 2021 season may look and feel a bit different from other years, we’ve taken great care to design a summer of music that puts the health and safety of audiences and artists top of mind. • Most concerts will take place in the Venetian Theater at reduced capacity to allow for social-distancing; • We’ve also added some special experiential performances where you will move through the piece rather than stay seated; • All of this summer’s concerts are shorter, without intermission; • There will be several casual “Concerts on the Lawn” where you can enjoy music from our new Friends Field stage; • For the first time, all concerts in the Venetian Theater have an option for Garden Listening on Friends Field; • We’ve gone digital... wherever possible, from tickets, to program notes, to ordering food and beverages. Most importantly, we will have lots of great music, in all the genres you love, performed by some of today’s most exciting and inspiring artists. THE BRIANNA THOMAS BAND Presented in Collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center
Friday, July 2
8:00pm / Venetian Theater / Tickets start at $40 ALL AROUND ELLA Brianna Thomas continues to ascend as one of the powerful and engaging voices on the jazz scene today. With her immensely talented band, she captivates audiences with her unique take on standard jazz and contemporary songs, all skillfully infused with her emotional depth and stellar scatting. In this concert, she pays homage to and celebrates Ella Fitzgerald and the wide breadth and scope of her repertoire and instrument. Though Ella was most well-known for singing swing and scat, her pure sound graced many styles and genres including spirituals, blues, bossa nova, and ballads, and the songbooks of Porter, Jobim, Rodgers and Hart, Arlen, Ellington, and many more. She even delved into the Stevie Wonder catalog with spunk, grace, and style. Ella quite literally sang everything! Tap here to watch a video T A P H E R E to B U Y T I C K E T S 10

Performed by The Crossing Donald Nally, conductor
Saturday, July 3
6:00pm / Caramoor Grounds / Tickets $55 The Forest is The Crossing’s response to the pandemic. Last fall, when the choir members could not sing safely indoors, they moved outdoors to sing, listen, and connect. At Caramoor you will walk through their performance, while specially designed speakers — ECHOES* Amplification Kits — allow singers to stand 30 feet from each other and from the audience. The speaker kits, positioned close to the path, create an intimate experience, reestablishing the broken relationships between singers and audience members while telling the story of hope and a way forward. *Ex-Covid Haptotropic Optimistic Electrophonic Sound.

Della Mae Friday, August 20
Shenel Johns Friday, August 27
The women of Flor de Toloache fuse together influences from across genres and cultures to produce a unique and powerful take on traditional Mariachi music. “They don’t just sing; they could blast through mountains with their wails and gritos (shouts), and melt glaciers with the warmth of their gorgeous harmonies” (NPR).
Della Mae is a Grammy Nominated, Nashvillebased, all-female string band. With a musical approach that’s steeped in tradition yet firmly rooted in the present, they have a completely original style that blends years of experience with traditional mountain music and modern singersongwriter sensibilities.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE With a voice that embodies grace and passion and a personal style that sways effortlessly from jazz to R&B to gospel, Shenel Johns has emerged as one of the shining stars of her generation. A native of Hartford, CT, Johns has been performing since she was fourteen years of age, and has developed a distinctive, eclectic style that has increasingly caught the attention of her peers and some of the industry’s top performers.
