BUILDERS GONNA BUILD So, that game mechanic looks cool. But what happens if I light it on fire and make this game look and feel like it’s a different game entirely? Here are some of the content legends behind 150th hour gameplay.

This is a game modelled after another game within a game. Now you’re thinking with portals. Essentially this gametype leads you through the story of Portal, complete with portal gun, one room at a time. You know, just in case you didn’t get frustrated enough playing the original game.

The slogan for this game is “freedom must be earned,” but the closest to “earning” my freedom I ever got was desperately keyboard smashing. If you’ve ever played the Escape flash games online, this game thrives on a very similar concept. Basically, puzzles galore. If you solve them all and get through the course, you “escape. ” Hopefully, sanity intact.

This game is beautiful. Really. I didn’t know squares could look like this. Remember walking into Blackreach for the first time in Skyrim? Wow. This game is that wow. It’s not really that hard (in fact, it’s not meant to be) but worthy of the list for my sheer amazement. I’m going to go improve my 6x6 dirt shack now.

REVENGE OF THE GODS

Winter is coming. No, really, it is. If you’re a Midwesterner like me (or in a similar Winter storm prone area) or just a general end-of-the-world conspiracy theorist, you have to be ready for the lights to go out at any time. Here are three table toppers worthy of breaking out the flashlights or enduring a weird, romantically candlelit game with the family.

Settlers of Catan In Mayflower fashion, you land on a fertile land. You will thrive and rule over all this land and call it. . Catan. This game takes 45 to 90 minutes to play and is a race to settle a new land, Catan. is a good step into Catan games for beginner players. 3 to 4 people play unless you have the extension pack, allowing you to play with 5 or 6 players.

Pandemic You might have played a version of this game online, being a virius engulfing the world. In the tabletop version, you’re fighting it. Every player in the game has a specialized role to understake. To win, you must strategize in concordance with each specalization’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as work with the cooperation of your teammates.

Castle Panic Build your castle, train your soldiers. If you’ve played any console/PC RPGs lately, this game format should seem familiar to you. And now, of course, the monsters come. Players work together to defend the castle from monsters through cards and strategies. 1 to 6 players can play Castle Panic.
