To help you get to know your fellow postgrad students and find out a little bit more about the city, we’ve put together a range of events for you to get involved in. The events highlighted have been developed specifically for postgrads so make sure you come along to those!

Our two weekly quizzes in The Taf collide for one mega brain teaser. Test your general knowledge and movie smarts against hundreds of others. With a cash prize for top spot and various other great prizes up for grabs; get a team together and make sure you don’t miss out!

Introducing the brand new LGBTQ+ club night... PLWS! We’ve joined forces with the LGBTQ+ society to create an all-inclusive night where everybody is welcome! The Athletic Union is the body that supports all sporting activity at Cardiff University Students’ Union. There are over 60 sports clubs including individual and team sports, outdoor and water sports and martial arts. It’s your chance to meet members of each sport and sign up.

Freshers’ Ice Breaker Club Night / 22:00-03:00 Venue: Y Plas / tickets from £12.50
Get ready for one of the biggest national Freshers’ club nights to hit Cardiff. In a nutshell the Icebreaker is a massive party that everyone goes to at the start of Freshers’ Week to ‘break the ice’. That means things get fairly crazy. For 7 years, the team at Icebreaker have provided a right of passage between ordinary life and university for over 200,000 students... and now it’s your turn.

The Guild of Societies and Cardiff Volunteering will be taking over our Freshers’ events on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th September, giving you the opportunity to find out more about our student groups. There will be different societies exhibiting each day so it’s well worth coming along to both fairs.

Wales has its own native language, which you’ll see displayed and hear spoken around the city. This is a great opportunity to learn some useful phrases when you arrive in Cardiff.
Comedy Central bring their extremely popular tour to Y Plas for a night of first class laughs. Prepare to have your ribs tickled by some of the finest names in comedy as we bring you the amazing Joel Dommett. Stay tuned for more announcements!

St. Fagan’s is one of Europe’s leading open–air museums and Wales’ most popular heritage attraction. Since 1948 over forty original buildings from different historical periods have been reerected in the 100-acre parkland, among them houses, a farm, a school, a chapel and a splendid Workmen’s Institute.
