POLITICS RENEWED LIVES TRANSFORMED

A LEGACY THAT LASTS

“We are deeply grateful for every person who faithfully supports the ministry of CARE”

Thank you for your willingness to consider a legacy to CARE or amending an existing Will.

We hope this brochure contains all the information you need, but don’t hesitate to contact us if you require any further help.

Needless to say, we hope it’ll be many years before your Will is enacted!

From time to time an unexpected legacy gift arrives at just the right moment to meet a particular challenge we’re facing.

What a joy to consider that long after we’ve gone our ‘legacy investment,’ big or small, will bear much precious fruit. There’s every reason to believe that our grandchildren and greatgrandchildren will need CARE as much, if not more than we did.

Yours in His amazing goodness and mercy

CARE’S VISION

Do you long to see our country transformed? Have you been praying that the United Kingdom might start to look more like God’s kingdom?

At CARE, our vision is simple: we want to see politics renewed and lives transformed. Some people have already lost trust in politics, believing that our politicians, leaders and governments just let us down and break their promises. And of course politics, like everything else, is tainted by our sin and selfishness.

But at its best, politics can be a force for good. In Romans 13, we read that God appoints governments and gives them responsibility. Yes, good government is God’s idea!

And when politics is working well, and our leaders seek to promote good and restrain evil, we begin to see a society where everyone flourishes as God intends them to, where injustice is challenged and where the powerless are protected.

For more than 40 years, CARE has sought to bring truth and grace into the world of politics. We believe that we have a better story to tell than anything human wisdom can offer, revealed in God’s word and modelled by Jesus himself.

We do hope that you will support us, as we continue to work to see God’s Kingdom come here on earth, as it is in heaven.

THE DIFFERENCE CARE MAKES

Engaging the Church

The Church is God’s action plan for changing the world, and so every year, we estimate we reach more than 50,000 Christians!

We provide up-to-date Biblically-rooted commentary on the latest news stories, we produce resources Christians can use to learn, pray and teach others, and we send our team to speak in hundreds of churches around the UK each year.

Equipping Politicians

Working with politicians is our bread and butter! Across the decades we have cultivated close relationships with MPs and Peers of all political persuasions and all faith backgrounds.

Much of what we do here goes on behind the scenes, but our Policy Team are hard at work conducting research, producing briefings and drafting speeches as we look to bring Christian convictions into the UK Parliaments. We even have the ability to draft legislation ourselves; yes some laws in the UK have words which originated in the CARE office!

Empowering Future Leaders

Renewing politics isn’t just a job for today. We long to see a new generation of Christian leaders, guided by wisdom and integrity, in the public square.

Our Leadership Programme provides talented young Christian graduates with the chance to experience an intensive study programme and an internship in politics or with a leading NGO. Around 400 young people have gone through the Programme, including some who have become Cabinet Members, MPs, MSPs, CEOs of NGOs, and even a Bishop!

We couldn’t do any of this without your help!

CREATING A WILL

Having a Will provides peace of mind, ensuring your family and loved ones are provided for, as well as giving you the opportunity to support the causes you care about.

As someone who has supported CARE, we want to share a meaningful way you can continue making a difference. Many of our supporters have chosen to leave a gift to CARE in their Wills, ensuring future generations of Christian leaders are equipped to speak up for the most vulnerable in our society and help build a better future for everyone.

We recommend having your Will written by a solicitor who can guide you through the process, to ensure that your wishes are properly documented and, as personal circumstances change, it’s important to review your Will to ensure it accurately reflects your wishes.

Our partnership with The National Free Wills Network offers you the opportunity to write your Will for free, in a way that suits you.

Through this partnership, we can put you in touch with selected local solicitors who can meet in-person, speak over the phone or offer an online service.

While there is no obligation to include a legacy to CARE in your Will, we warmly appreciate any consideration you may give. Please note that this is a limited offer and covers simple Wills only, which we find meets most people’s needs.

LEAVING A LEGACY

There are two main ways to include a gift in your Will to CARE:

A share of your estate (Residuary gift)

A residuary gift is a share of someone’s estate. This is the most beneficial way to leave a gift to CARE as it’s a percentage of your estate rather than a fixed amount, ensuring it retains its value over time.

A cash gift (Pecuniary gift)

A pecuniary gift is a fixed sum of money. If you would like to protect the value of your gift from diminishing over the years, please speak to your solicitor about making it index linked.

Most supporters leave gifts to our general fund, allowing us to use them where the need is greatest.

INHERITANCE TAX

Gifts in Wills to charities are exempt from Inheritance Tax. If you would be liable to pay Inheritance Tax on the remainder of your Estate, giving a gift to charity equal to 10% of your Estate could mean that you pay a reduced rate of Inheritance Tax. For all tax advice we strongly suggest that you consult your solicitor.
