TheCenterforEducationalPartnerships(CEP)programs,partnerships,andinitiativeshaveastandingcommitmentandbelief thatallstudentshavetheopportunitytopursueapost-secondaryeducationregardlessofsystemic,economic,orsocial barriers.AllCEPprogramsservestudentsfromlow-income,first-generation,andunderrepresentedbackgroundswhoarefrom highneedcommunities.

Throughpartnershipwork,CEPsupportsthefollowing: GainingEarlyAwarenessandReadinessforUndergraduatePrograms(GEARUP)iscommittedtoincreasingthenumberof underrepresentedstudentsfromlow-incomebackgroundswhoenterandsucceedinpostsecondaryeducation.EachGEARUP grantfollowsacohortofAnaheimUnionHighSchoolDistrictstudentsandtheirfamiliesfor7years,from7thgradethrough highschoolandintotheirfirstyearofcollege.

PARTNERSHIPSFORSTUDENTSUCCESS

ThesepartnershipsprovidesignificantsupportforLatinxstudentsin localhighschoolsandcommunitycollegesandmanyofthemattend CSUF.Thefundingwillbeusedtocreateprogrammingthat supportsyield,onboardingandretentionofstudentsenrollingfrom thesepartnerships,including 15bookscholarships forstudentsfrom thesepartnerships.

OVERVIEWOF

servedatExperienceCalStateFullertoneventsbetweenOctober1,2021–June30,2022.The programfocusedondeliveringavarietyofvirtual,hybrid,andin-personservicestostudentsas theschooldistrictstransitionedoverfromvirtualtoin-personlearning.Studentsparticipatedin virtualcampustoursaswellasin-personandvirtualworkshops; topicsincludedbutwerenot limitedtocollegeoptions,collegeapplicationtimelines,careerandmajoroptions,college preparationforjuniorsandseniors,andstudyskills.IncollaborationwiththeCSUFOfficeof FinancialAidourprogramdeliveredvirtualwebinarworkshopsontheFreeApplicationforFederal StudentAid(FAFSA)andtheCaliforniaDreamAct(CDA)toprospectivestudentstohelpanswer questionsandhelpstudentscompletetheirapplicationstomaximizetheirfinancialaideligibility. Additionally,theCEPsupportedeventshostedbyschoolsitessuchSeniorPush–activities.

KIDSTOCOLLEGE

servedinthe2021-22academicyearatsevenelementaryschoolsintheFullerton-ElementarySchool District,Placentia-YorbaLindaUnifiedSchoolDistrict,andapilotschoolintheCorona-NorcoUnified SchoolDistrict.Theschoolsidentifiedandservedbytheprogramenrollahighpercentageofstudents fromsocioeconomicallydisadvantagedbackgrounds.
