As illustrated by the red curves, an optimised MacGregor cargo system combined with Productivity Care aims to help you gain a competitive operational advantage

It is essential that a ship’s entire crew understands the features of its cargo system and how to benefit from them. We offer a monitoring and follow-up service for your ship’s cargo system based on onboard data analysis combined with follow-up training and guidance. This service is carried out by MacGregor experts and is targeted at all parties involved in the ship’s cargo handling processes.

MacGregor Productivity Care can be applied both for newbuildings with MacGregor equipment and for cargo systems modernised by a MacGregor Cargo Boost upgrade. It is also available as an independent service. It makes good commercial sense to get the most from a cargo system designed for your ship’s needs. If your ship is more efficient than average - and you can prove it - it should command better than average charter rates,

MacGregor Onboard Care MacGregor Onboard Care offers you a combination of services customised to your needs. MacGregor Onboard Care combined with MacGregor Productivity Care ensures that unexpected service costs are minimised while the ship’s cargo carrying ability and income are maximised. Now you can benefit from both.

MacGregor Productivity Care support agreement helps increase a ship’s income.

MacGregor Onboard Care service agreement reduces unexpected maintenance costs.

A typical MacGregor Productivity Care support service offering: Training and guidance:

Cargo system sailing condition data utilisation:

• Training and guidance in system delivery for load planners, ship’s masters, and other personnel (for example, uptake manager, capacity planner, lashing gang) to make sure they know what the new cargo system is capable of and how to utilise it. • Follow-up training and guidance on board during the first voyage(s) and further input as needed. This ensures that all personnel understand the equipment and can make the best decisions possible about its operation in service.

• We gather, analyse and verify the cargo system sailing condition data during voyages and in port by means of a data box installed on board. We call this the ‘jewel box’ and it is set to collect data from various onboard programs. • The accumulated data is used to find out exactly where further improvements could still be made in the utilisation of the cargo system. Typical information contains Baplie files, stability, GM, loading computer files and ballast information. The ship’s utilisation rate is also followed-up. • Typical reporting frequency is once during each rotation. • Due to variations in systems, each installation must be separately considered. Most importantly, this ensures compatibility with a ship’s loading computer and its lashing module. • A prerequisite for successful data collection, reporting and utilisation is close cooperation between MacGregor’s IT partners, the shipowner’s IT personnel, the ship’s personnel, and the operation planning and stowage experts. • Comparison with available industry information reference data from similar average ships on similar main legs is used to verify that shipowners achieve what is expected from the new cargo system. Hence, all improvement suggestions, guidance and training are based on actual data, not assumptions. • For those who are responsible for the ship’s bottom line, we arrange face-to-face briefings to go through the data analysis reports and to agree upon improvement suggestions if needed.

Training topics: • • • • • • • •

The efficiency of a container ship’s cargo system has an immediate effect on a ship’s earning potential and on the return on investment throughout a ship’s lifetime. It makes good economic sense to invest in a system that provides a competitive edge and gives you the support to use the full potential of the cargo system’s design.
