What is Life History?
Life history data describe the basic population indicators of a species and can include their maximum size, age, sexual maturity age and size, size and age when sex changes, maximum longevity, and reproductive strategy, among other factors.
This information is used as input into models of the population’s productivity.
All these indicators can tell us how the composition of the population changes; when key life events occur and what can be expected throughout the time.
