Congratulations Dr. Álida Ortiz!

The Caribbean Fishery Management Council (CFMC) congratulates and acknowledges the contributions of Dr. Álida Ortiz Sotomayor, who was conferred the rank of Emeritus Professor at UPRHumacao. Dr. Ortiz has stood out for her extensive educational work on issues related to marine and coastal resources. She was the first person to obtain a doctorate in the Department of Marine Sciences, UPR-Mayagüez and was the first Director of the Sea Grant Program in Puerto Rico. Currently, she serves as the Chair of the CFMC Outreach and Education Advisory Panel and continues to collaborate with various educational initiatives. Thank you Álida for all your contributions!
