Sunshine Villa residents gathered together last Friday afternoon, Aug. 19, for a summer party and ribbon cutting ceremony to finally inaugurate the walking path made possible by
the Town of Tofield council. Attending the event were Mayor Deb Dueck, CAO Cindy Neufeld, along with councillors, Brenda Chehade, Norm Martineau, Larry Tiedemann, and Harold Conquest. Sunshine Villa Man-
ager Lorna Rempel and Activities Coordinator Jennifer Guiton spoke at the event thanking the council for their generous support. Besides refreshments and beverages, there was also live music by Kelly Bourdages. “We were able to cele-
brate the walking path with the residents and their friends and family and publicly thank the town for providing it,” said Guiton. “It felt great to be hosting an event that involved the community, and it was
exciting just to have such a gathering again!” Guiton said that the event was a reminder how far they had come since the beginning of the pandemic. “I think the restrictions were very hard on
the residents, their families and the staff, but I feel everyone did a great job being as safe as possible,” she added. “There were a lot of smiling faces at the Continued on Page 7
