Lazaruik back in Tofield Editor
Former CW Sears Principal Zenovia Lazaruik is back in the community; she replaces Principal Janice Muench as Tofield School’s new principal. Having left CW Sears, Lazaruik moved to Camrose’s Jack Stuart School as the principal, but she said she was “excited” to serve the community of Tofield again. “I am very happy and delighted to be returing back to Tofield School,” she said. “I am excited to be a Titan again, and look forward to seeing previous students I had at CW Sears School. “As a servant leader I work to support and guide our staff to use effective strategies to create the highest quality learning environment for all students. Stu-
dents have and always come first no matter what school I have been at and that will continue at Tofield School!”

To create the best possible learning environ ment for our students is a team effort. Lazaruik said while in Camrose, she worked towards building strong relationships with the students, staff, and par-
ents: “It’s a win-win!” That’s what she will be applying as she strives to build relationships in a meaningful way within the school community and beyond. “To create the best possible learning environment for our students is a team effort. As the Tofield School mantra states – as a titan, I work collabortively to achieve greatness,” she added. “Begin with the end in mind – our purpose in education is to inspire, develop, and engage our students to be ethicial citizens who serve the needs of our community. “We will continue to stay focused on our purpose so that our students can grow and learn each and every day.” Lazaruik hopes that this academic year, she is able to support the
Tofield School Principal Zenovia Lazaruik.
Tofield School community in the leadership role she has been appointed to as much as possible. “My first job will be to learn what is presently in place and build from there,” she noted. “Tofield School presently has a strong student leadership presence in many areas, for example in community service and sports. We are going to have an ex-
cellent school year and look forward to our first day on Sept. 6.” Speaking on the subject of bullying and how she hopes to tackle that, Lazaruik said, “When we have conflict between students it is very important that we take approach of restorative justice, and hear everyone’s voice as to what each person needs and have a support system in place to assist in de-
veloping healthy relationships. “We will be reviewing what character development is in place and look into adding social/emotional learning capacity building in all grades. When we’re understood then there is a feeling of acceptance. All of our students are great human beings who with the support of staff and parents will do great things in our community.”
