FIRST Supper & Auction returns

Flagstaffʼs Informed Response Sharing Team (FIRST) presented its first in-person supper in two years this past Saturday, Feb. 4, in Sedgewick at the Community Hall. The tickets were sold out days before, and there were more than 80 silent auction items and 12 live auction items donated to raise funds for FIRST programs. See more on Page 25. Two of four suspects from Flagstaff charged in break and enter to Castor business On Friday, Feb. 3, at 1:57 a.m. Coronation RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress at a business in Castor. Two suspects gained entry to a secure compound which was observed by a witness. The witness notified the property representative and he attended the scene. A getaway vehicle pulled up and picked up the two suspects as they exited the property. The property representative followed the suspects in his vehicle and notified the Coronation RCMP of the incident. Coronation RCMP were able to locate the suspects in their vehicle with the assistance of the property representative and conduct a traffic stop. Killam and Viking RCMP members attended and assisted with taking the suspects in custody. Four suspects were

held for a Justice of the Peace hearing. As a result of the investigation Coronation RCMP have charged; Danielle Nelson, 40, a resident of Alliance, was charged with: Break and enter to a business; Mischief to property under $5,000; Alter or obliterate vehicle identification number; Possession of break and enter tools; and Breach of a release order (x2). Nelson was remanded into custody with her next appearance set for Feb.10 at Coronation Provincial Court. Dallas Vaudrin, 44, a resident of Killam, was charged with: Break and enter to a business; Mischief to property under $5,000; Alter or obliterate vehicle identification number; Possession of break and enter tools; and Breach of probation order. Vaudrin was released from custody

on bail with his next court appearance set for March 10 at Coronation Provincial Court. Paul Jamieson, 43, a resident of Stettler, was charged with: Break and enter to a business; Mischief to property under $5,000; Alter or obliterate vehicle identification number; Possession of break and enter tools; Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). Jamieson was released from custody with his next appearance set for March 10 at Coronation Provincial Court. Tanya Kotowski-Jamieson, 40, a resident of Stettler,was charged with: Break and enter to a business; Mischief to property under $5,000; Alter or obliterate vehicle identification number; Possession of break and enter tools. Kotowski-Jamieson was released from custody with her next appearance set for

March 10 at Coronation Provincial Court. “In a small community the problems associated with property related crimes are amplified,” says Sergeant John Pike, Detachment Commander Coronation RCMP, “As part of our Rural Crime Reduction Strategy we encourage members of the public/businesses to report suspicious activity. “With the assistance of the community and the property representative we were able to locate the suspects involved.” Members of the public who want to report suspect suspicious activity or property related crime in their community can call local police, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
