Viking Skating Club Dazzles with annual classic Patricia Harcourt Editor
The Viking Skating Club held its annual ice carnival on Sunday, March 9. This year’s theme was “Y2K” and came with music of that era accompanying the sets. Cute little munchkins and older experts in colourful costumes performed for family and friends watching with delight in the stands. The rink at the Viking Carena Complex was brightly decorated as a beautiful backdrop for the carnival. Older skaters undertook solo performances showing off their skill and dexterity on the ice, and also spent time attending to the younger skaters as they also did their skating best. The carnival was a chance for everyone to gather and celebrate another full season completed by the skaters with help from adult participants. There were 17 performances in all, including the grand finale where flowers wee presented on ice.
