Emergency Dept. full hours resume in Daysland Leslie Cholowsky Editor
Alberta Health Services announced on Tuesday, March 28, that the Emergency Department at the Daysland Health Centre would resume 24/7 operations on Monday, April 3. “Successful recruitment has led to the return of the ED’s regular hours of 24 hours a day, seven days a week. “Recruitment efforts continue for additional nursing vacancies,” says AHS. The site has had temporary closures over week nights since last October in the Emergency Department, although it has been open weekdays and has had full coverage on weekends. AHS expressed gratitude to Daysland residents and the surrounding communities for their patience and understanding during the period of temporary overnight closures. “AHS appreciates the commitment of its local staff and physicians during this disruption and is also grateful for the seamless support provided to referred patients at neighbouring health care centres.”
