Elections Alberta has changed some polling locations for Flagstaff County voters in the upcoming provincial election from the 2019 election. On Monday, May 29, Flagstaff County residents will vote at one of four polling stations within the county. Those were indicated via voter cards sent in the mail to registered voters, advertised in The Community Press, and follow here. Voters in Alliance, Galahad, and Heisler will cast their ballots at Forestburg School. Strome and Daysland voters will cast
their ballots at the Daysland Community Hall. Lougheed, Sedgewick, and Killam voters will cast their ballots at the Killam Community Centre. Hardisty voters will cast their votes at the Hardisty Community Hall. Rural Flagstaff County voters are split into four areas. On the west side of the county, residents east of Range Road 170 to the east side of Range Road 143; and south of Highway 26, to Township Road 432, will vote in Daysland at the Community Hall. Residents who live east of RR 143 to the east side of RR111, and South of Township roads 462/460 to the north
side of Township road 430, will vote at the Killam Community Hall. Voters living south of Township 432 between Range Road 125 and Range Road 114 will vote at the Forestburg School. Voters in the south east corner of the county, south of Township Roads 430/450, between Range Roads 125/114 and 111, will vote in Hardisty. If you’re still not clear on where to vote, you can visit the Elections Alberta website and enter your legal land location. (https://www.elections.ab.ca/) Advance voting can be done at any polling station within Flagstaff County, between May 23 and May 27. There are three advance polling stations: Big
Knife Villa Seniors Centre in Forestburg; Hardisty Community Hall in Hardisty, and Killam Community Centre in Killam. Advance polling stations are open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mobile voting stations have been assigned to Daysland Health Centre, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.; Galahad Care Centre from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Hardisty Health Care Centre from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for residents, inpatients, or individuals receiving supports and services from treatment centres, hospitals, supportive living, and long-term care facilities While advance voters can choose any of the three; on Election Day, they must vote at their assigned voting location.
