Last Friday night the place to be was the Bruce Community Centre where people filled the hall to enjoy a Perogy Supper with all the trimmings. The annual event is a fundraiser for the Bruce Agricultural Society and it turned out to be a great success. It’s been a good year for the Ag Society as they also marked over 50 years of contributing to their local community with a gathering at the Bruce Curling Rink in August. The perogy supper is an event many look forward to come the fall. Preparations for this year’s supper started on the Wednesday before the meal. Volunteers got together in the evening to make the perogies, an annual tradition for many people far and wide. There is a great deal of work involved in preparing a meal for such a large number of people. And it was topped off with a dessert table that had something for everyone to enjoy. The evening serves as one of the Bruce Ag Society’s biggest fundraisers of the year, and a chance for people to join in a membership drive that happens at the same time. It’s a tradition that is sure to continue for many years to come with satisfied patrons having enjoyed another bountiful meal and supported the Bruce Ag Society for yet another year.
