THE MOORINGS

THE MOORINGS

Kick off your shoes, grab your towel and hop on board whichever boat takes your fancy. This is the British Virgin Islands, a bewitching archipelago of some 60 islands and cays where sailors and sun-seekers come to play. Back in the day, it was pirates who holed up in the hidden harbours and sheltered bays, and it’s still a place to live out your Treasure Island fantasies. At the centre of things is Tortola, the main island, known for its great beaches, full moon parties and gnarly surfing. From here you can catch a ferry to a myriad of other islands, including sleepy Anegada, with its flat coral landscape and pink flamingos, and yachty favourite Jost Van Dyke, where the infamous Painkiller cocktail was invented at the Soggy Dollar Bar. If diving is your thing, begin your underwater adventures at the dive sites near Cooper Island, where a kaleidoscope of colourful sea life can be found amongst the sunken wrecks, or the spectacular rock formations known as The Baths, on the island of Virgin Gorda. The BVI is also home to some of the most exclusive private island resorts in the world, including Moskito Island, Guana Island and the famous Necker Island, where Sir Richard Branson likes to hang out when he’s not blasting off into space.

NECKER ISLAND

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson’s 74-acre tropical paradise, is undoubtedly the most famous private island in the world. But it’s not just the lustre of celebrity that makes Necker so special; it’s the luxury of having so much space to yourself, a secluded private playground where everything from waterskiing to unlimited Champagne is included in the price. Snorkel and scuba amongst colourful reefs, chill out in the Beach Pavilion or party all night with your own private DJ. You have the option of buying out the whole island for up to 40 guests or joining one of the occasional ‘Celebration Weeks’, when rooms can be booked on an individual basis.

7 nights from £15,249 per person sharing a Great House Room on All-Inclusive during a Necker Island 'Celebration Week' arriving 16 Oct 2021. Please contact Caribtours for more information regarding Celebration Week dates and exclusive island use.

THE BRANSON ESTATE, MOSKITO ISLAND

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

Inspired by Necker Island - and just a short boat ride away - Moskito Island is Sir Richard Branson’s newest private island retreat. The Branson Estate consists of just three villas, available to book for exclusive use or on an individual basis. Mangrove Villa and Beach Villa both have four bedrooms, while Headland House has three, and all have a fully equipped kitchen, spacious lounge areas, private infinity pool and hot tub. Rates include all meals and drinks, and chef services in your villa. Plus there is a range of shared facilities including an infinity pool and bar, tennis pavilion, watersports centre, a high-end fitness centre, and spa treatments are available in your villa.
