ACCOMMODATION: There are 51 rooms and suites housed within seven separate ‘mansions’, with a choice between staying in a cave room hewn from the rock or one of the modern additions, which have a more orthodox square shape. Each room is unique, and you can expect a balcony or fireplace, antique Turkish rugs, local stone and wood, and an artful combination of traditional handicrafts with modern design. In-room amenities include air conditioning, Bose sound system, Nespresso machine, WiFi, mini bar, in-room safe and Molton Brown bathroom products. EXPERT VIEW

- Argos in Cappadocia is a great choice for honeymooners, not least the romantic

Splendid Suites, constructed from volcanic tuff and each with its own private cave pool - The restoration of this unique place was a real labour of love, and took over 26 years to complete - Fruits picked from the hotel garden are dried and preserved in the traditional

Cappadocia fashion - stored in a fairy chimney!

- Cappadocia’s fertile volcanic soil and sunny climate makes it a great place for growing grapes, and the hotel owns two vineyards, producing both native Anatolian wines and well-known international varieties such as Shiraz and

Chardonnay - This makes a great stop on a multi-centre stay in Turkey
