The Lighthouse™ Designed and manufactured in Norway www.varpogveft.com

The LighthouseTM collection is delicate yet rich in texture and details, with qualities suitable for both interior and apparel. The textiles are developed with inspiration from the Norwegian coastal scenery and the particular setting of the JĂŚren coast. While breathtakingly beautiful with its long sandy beaches and the endless horizon where the ocean meets the sky, this lowland area provides little protection against the elements. In the mid-19th century several lighthouses were built along the coast. Amongst these is Obrestad Lighthouse, which is the location of our photoshoot.

Norway ClothTM is a line of specialty wool textiles based on the finest wool from ancient Norwegian breeds of sheep. All production is done locally with a fully transparent value chain, exploiting the value of Norwegian wool as well as the know-how of the Norwegian textile industry. Textile designer Jon .. eettersen has achieved combinations of yarn, weaving techniques and patterns leading to a delicate expression aligned with function and context. eettersen is associate professor at Bergen Academy of Design and Art and has many years of experience from the Norwegian textile industry.

The Lighthouse™ textiles are made of 100% wool, weft based on virgin wool from the ancient Norwegian breed Grå Trøndersau. The breed has been close to extinction, and is kept for its delicate wool. The textiles are natural and over time exposure to the elements will alter their character. Dry clean only. The wool fibre has anti-bacterial properties and a natural fire resistance. Width 170cm. Yardage is limited and made to order following the annual sheep shearing.
