Dukers Help in Fair’s Success It was back to FourSquare Rum Distillery and Heritage park for the Multinational Fair 2016. There were thousands of patrons and hundreds of volunteers who made the event a success. For participants of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Barbados it was another week of service hours; but it was still so much more than that. The multitude of stalls at the fair provided a huge amount of information and exotic tastes. There was art on display by local and overseas artists, along with varied music, dance and cuisine from almost every corner of the world.

So, the fair was much more than just a chance to log hours of community service. In addition to Award participants, the fair’s volunteer corps comprised personnel from many other service organisations: Barbados Cadet Corps, Kiwanis, Lions Club, Rotaract, Rotary, Optimist International, Junior Optimist Octagon International, Wills Primary School . The Award also mounted a stall at the fair to raise awareness of the programme and to raise funds for those travelling to Trinidad and

Tobago in the summer. The variety stall was manned by a mix of gold award holders and current participants. It attracted lots of attention with the display of camping equipment. Here are just a few images of the Award team in action during the fair.
