Born in 1984 in Santa Marinha, Portugal, I started my studies in ESAP (Escola Superior Artística do Porto) in 2002 by the age of 17 and obtained the Graduate Degree in Licenciatura em Arquitectura in 2009, with the final grade of 13 (out of 20). During these 7 years of studies I worked on many projects and essays, some of which are presented in this portfolio. In 2010 i became an oficial member of the Portuguese Architects Order, after colaborating in a portuguese office called “CAMILO CORTESÃO ARQUITECTOS ASSOCIADOS” (MVCC). In 2010 I began my colaboration in an important public company called “PARQUE ESCOLAR” that is responsible by the rehabilitation of secondary schools in Portugal. In this company I acquired a lot of experience on functions like Project Director, and Project Construction Management.
Since school years I have been participating in some competitions most of them with other persons. I prefer team work to single working. These are inportant opportunities to explore some designs and test solutions . The participation in competitions and the colaboration in different offices also allowed me to have contact with several kinds of software, like Microsoft Office, Apple iWork, Oppen Office, Adobe Photoshop, Ilustartor and in Design, Autodesk Autocad, Graphisoft Archicad, Bentley Microstation, Google sketchup, Kerkythea, Art-Lantis and 3D Max. Therefore I have enough expertise to adapt to any office routine. Fluent in english I also understand spanish, french and italian.
In the year of 2007 I colaborated for the first time with the architect “Luis Marques da Silva” for ten months while I was finishing the graduation. In this office I develloped skills in housing projects and public equipments. By the year of 2009 I began my colaboration on CAMILO CORTESÃO Office (MVCC) after a short colaboration on MANUEL FERNANDES DE SÁ Office. In this office I begun intervieing in large scale projects such as school rehabilitations and other public/private investments. I had the opportunitie of developing big projects in diferent kinds of stages, from the begining study till final design, which allowed me to get experience on the construction field and to interact with other teams. In November of 2010 I begun my colaboration in “PARQUE ESCOLAR”. As stated above, in this company I developed skils in Project Directing and Project Constrtucting Management. I dealt with big scale projects with construction values that rounds 11.000.000€ each.
In the beginning of 2011 I had the opportunittie to develop some housing projects in colaboration with the architect Patrícia Rocha. We explored some designs and tested solutions in diferent types of contexts. As these projects are still under development the information shown in this section referes only to inicial studies.
The projects shown here are just some of the ones in wich I colaboated. The copyright of these projects belong to MVCC and PARQUE ESCOLAR. Therefore they are intirely of their responsability and as so they must be understood as a proof of the skills i achieved by working with them.
