To who it may concern, As Associate Professor of Spatial Planning and Strategy at TU Delft, it is with great pleasure that I recommend Carlos-Prisco Carrasco Barra as a prospect asset to your studio. I met Carlos-Prisco at the TU Delft Planning and Design with Water Summer School in July 2018. He was selected amongst 300 candidates from all over the world, with an excellent application and subsequent great participation in our school. During the course, Carlos-Prisco developed a proposal for the Renovation of an area in the city of The Hague as a collaborative research project between TU Delft, City of The Hague, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, the Dutch Delta Programme, ARCADIS, Deltares and others private and public partners. He focused on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and The New Urban Agenda, gaining insight into how to connect SDGs and sustainable urban design, while developing leadership and negotiation skills. His open personality, capacity to work in a multinational group and to lead this group impressed me and will be likely impressive to his future working partners. Carlos-Prisco is genuine, open-hearted, thoughtful and wonderful to work with. All of the above leads me to recommend him highly. I believe he has an enormous potential for growth and great achievements in his academic and professional careers. Please don't hesitate to contact me at r.c.rocco@tudelft.nl if you have any questions.
Sincerely, Roberto Rocco

COMPETITIONS
RETHINKING the CERDÀ GRID in BARCELONA
RETHINKING the CERDÀ GRID in BARCELONA Comeptition for ARQUIA BECAS. Jury: Carme Pinós Designed in 2021, awaiting results.
Although iconic, Cerdà’s proposal was innevitably car-centered. The idea behind this proposal is to research other scales that occur in Barcelona. By reducing the dimensions and breaking the straight lines made for private vehicles, public spaces appear in a classical manner. They are the result of the buildings interrelations and not viceversa.

RESEARCH on the TYPOLOGY of IMPASSE
REFURBISHMENT of the AMCA BUILDING in ANTWERP
MUSEUM of MODERN ART in ZARAGOZA
RESEARCH on the TYPOLOGY of IMPASSE Housing development proposal in UniAntwerp. Jury: Prof. Koen Van Bockstal Collaboration: Alba Aparicio, Robe Pacquée, Floremie Vermeulen Designed in 2020, with Honours.
The essence of the Impasse typology resides in the privacy accomplished of a semi-public street. This project is mainly focused in developing a rowhouse complex through hand-drawing and model-making. Concepts of ‘intelligent ruin’ and future re-use are key to understand the proposal.
Plans for a rowhouse unit.
Model studies for typolies.
REFURBISHMENT of the AMCA BUILDING in ANTWERP Office building transformation to residential. Jury: Prof. Wanees Peters. Collaboration: Alba Aparicio Designed in 2020, with Honours.
Is still room for change when the structure is already given? That premise is key for the development of the idea. During the semester plans were pushed to their limits and façades were studied in order to refer to the surrounding port warehouses.
