LONGFORD PARK COMMUNITY NEWS Big Lunch Special! Hi everyone and welcome to residents on phase two who are receiving this newsletter for the first time. I'm a phase one resident and I started this newsletter as a way of informing all residents about news affecting Longford Park. I've held off producing one of these for a while. The purpose of this newsletter is to inform all Longford Park residents about the Big Lunch taking place on 18th June. This is a FREE event that has been put on by Longford Park residents FOR Longford Park residents, as a way of bringing our new community closer together. This newsletter contains details of all competitions, events and event sponsors. If the weather is nice it promises to be a fun few hours for adults and children alike. I do hope you can make it! Now in its eighth year, the 'Big Lunch' is an idea from the Eden Project made possible by the Big Lottery Fund. It is the perfect recipe for having fun with your neighbours, feeding community spirit and helping to build stronger neighbourhoods. Longford Park had its first Big Lunch last year, a well attended impromptu picnic on the lawn area by the entrance to the estate. This year we are aiming for a real community event. Residents are invited to bring picnics again, but with the generous help and support of the estate's builders, local businesses and resident's themselves we are offering up a whole range of events. It promises to be fun for everyone!
