International Film Fridays

Enjoy the best of world-wide cinema two Fridays each month with selections that have been recognized by critics as representing some of the finest cinema from across the globe. Films are screened with English subtitles at 4 and 7 p.m. at the Schulman Auditorium.

Wednesday Film Series

The Carlsbad Film Series provides cinema fans with movies representing the best and the brightest from Hollywood and worldwide. These films are screened the last three Wednesdays each month at 6 p.m. at the Schulman Auditorium.

I Love My Dad

Comedy (2022, R, 1h 36m) Wednesday, Jan. 4, 6 p.m. A hopelessly estranged father catfishes his son in an attempt to reconnect.

The Fencer

Finland/Estonia, Biography/Drama/History (2015, NR, 1h 39m) Friday, Jan. 6, 4 & 7 p.m.

Fleeing from the Russian secret police, a young Estonian fencer is forced to return to his homeland, where he becomes a physical education teacher at a local school. The past however catches up and puts him in front of a difficult choice.

Gigi & Nate Drama (2022, PG-13, 1h 54m) Wednesday, Jan. 11, 6 p.m. A young man's life is turned upside down after he is left a quadriplegic. Moving forward seems near impossible until he meets his unlikely service animal, Gigi, a curious and intelligent capuchin monkey.

Wednesday, Jan. 18, 6 p.m. Follows the life of Father Stuart Long, a boxer-turnedpriest who inspired countless people during his journey from self-destruction to redemption.

I’m Your Man

In order to obtain research funds for her studies, a scientist accepts an offer to participate in an extraordinary experiment: for three weeks, she is to live with a humanoid robot, created to make her happy.

I am Not a Witch Zambia, Drama, Comedy, Fantasy (2017, NR, 1h 33m) Friday, Feb. 3, 4 & 7 p.m. In a remote Zambian community, a girl is denounced as a witch and sent on a trajectory of exploitation, as a tethered member of a witches' camp, a witch for hire and a tourist exhibit.

Till Biography, Drama, History (2022, PG-13, 2h 10m) Wednesday, Feb. 8, 6 p.m. A poignant story of a mother’s grief turned into action and the universal power of a mother’s ability to change the world.

King Richard Biography, Drama, Sport (2021, PG-13, 2h 24m) Wednesday, Feb. 15, 6 p.m. A look at how tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams became who they are after the coaching from their father Richard Williams.

Blind Ambition Australia/Zimbabwe, Documentary (2021, NR, 1h 36m)

Friday, Feb. 17, 4 & 7 p.m. In this inspiring documentary, four Zimbabwean refugees find purpose training as sommeliers in South Africa. When the opportunity arises to compete at the World Blind Wine Tasting Championships in France, their next challenging journey begins.
