SAFETY FOCUS IN THE NORWEGIAN SECTOR

CIVIL STATUS/PRIVATE: Married to Lars, mother/bonus mother of 2 grownup girls and settled in Esbjerg. In my spare time I exercise, practice winter swimming and work as a contact person in a local association in Esbjerg.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AT Q-STAR ENERGY: During my time at Q-STAR ENERGY I have been occupied with a little of everything. For the past many years I have been in charge of our workforce with recruitment and education of personnel for all our projects as a main area of responsibility. I have close contact to both employees and applicants. My work also includes frequent direct contact with educational institutions, job centres, trade unions etc.

PREVIOUS OCCUPATION: I am a trained forwarding agent and have 25 years of experience from the freight forwarding/ transport business. In 2006 I chose to change jobs and I have never regretted that choice.

CIVIL STATUS/PRIVATE: I live on an abolished farm on the outskirts of Esbjerg with my wife Grethe. I pass my spare time with motorbike journeys and weekend trips. I enjoy the nature with our dog, Sigurd, and music, such as rock, blues and metal.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AT Q-STAR ENERGY: I am responsible that Q-STAR ENERGY has certification for all re­ levant standards applicable for our line of business. I co-operate with our clients' HMS/HSE departments to ensure that we meet all our work environmental objectives on a general level. Ordinarily, I work with the handling and finishing of deviations, such as work-related injuries.

PREVIOUS OCCUPATION: I am a trained mechanic and mechanical engineer. I have worked with quality management since 1990 in various companies.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AT Q-STAR ENERGY: My work is carried out in the resources department, where the coordination of courses is my main field of work. I also take care of job interviews, handling of applications and personal as well as telephonic guidance of applicants in the office.

Furthermore, I follow up on our personnel as regards the updating of courses etc.

It has been a hectic year for Q-STAR ENERGY, including the resources department as well.

It has been our job to maintain close contact with our personnel and project managers and to stay one step ahead of the expectations placed by our clients. This year it has been nec-

essary to engage some new employees for various projects, especially during the spring and summer period.

As we receive our orders with a short notice, it is important that we always keep skilled applicants updated, so that they are ready for the start of the projects.

RECERTIFICATION AND COURSES

In this department we are also responsible for the upgrading of our certifications and all other courses demanded by our clients. It is of vital importance that we meet the demands made by our clients and that we are up-to-date.

Newly appointed employees will also be informed that, although they have just attended a week-long course, there is no end to courses and further education in this line of business.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AT Q-STAR ENERGY: One of my tasks as a project coordinator is to cultivate our contacts with clients in the Norwegian sector, which often consists of meetings, project management and establishment of contact to new clients. Furthermore, I stay in touch with our employees on onshore projects and have departure meetings regarding offshore work to ensure that our personnel observe the rules outlined by us and the client.

CIVIL STATUS/PRIVATE: Mother of an 18-year-old son and settled in Varde.

PREVIOUS OCCUPATION: I have worked as a head of department at Cramo, Haugesund and as a head of transport at RWT AS, which are both hiring out equipment and machines. I have also experience in providing personnel for the oil and gas industry.

PREVIOUS OCCUPATION: I come from a job as head of administration at Pro-Pipe Support. Before that I was employed with Vestas for a number of years, where I worked as a departmental secretary, technical designer and team leader for the technical designers.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AT Q-STAR ENERGY: My field of work is attached to the Norwegian sector, where I mobilise our numerous employees for onshore and offshore projects. So far, Gert gives me advice or assistance as regards the projects on my desk.

CIVIL STATUS/PRIVATE: Married to Lucjan and owner of a dog called George. Resident in Bydgoszcz, Poland. I enjoy my spare time with fitness, books and friends.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AT Q-STAR ENERGY: My most important job is to find Polish employees, including the selection of applicants according to the requirements of the clients, interviews and the handling of candidate data in the database.

Furthermore, I take care of the distribution of safety gear for the employees and daily office functions, such as correspondence and procurement of office supplies.

PREVIOUS OCCUPATION: Previously I worked in the HR department at a call centre. I am a trained psychologist.

POLAND

At Q-STAR ENERGY Poland Agnieszka and Aleksandra have found qualified Polish scaffolders, who have worked at the Statoil project in the Mongstad oil refinery during this year. Their main task was to assemble scaffolds at central points in the refinery. The scaffolds were erected for other teams at the site and also used to replace elements of a steel structure in the reactor. Our team also built scaffolds in the reactor, in tanks and in the K7 quay. Furthermore, the scaffolds were used during the installation of new traverse cranes and for welding jobs.

I spend my spare time with plant production in our 20 hectares and try to exercise and hunt over the season.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AT Q-STAR ENERGY: As a new man in the office I primarily take care of the mobilisation of crew for all the Maersk fields in the Danish sector. Therefore, I spend a lot of the day contacting our employees by telephone or in person at the office.

PREVIOUS OCCUPATION: I have just arrived from a position at Blue Water Shipping, where I have worked since 2010. I have been in the transport business since 2004.

CIVIL STATUS/PRIVATE: I live with Louise in Esbjerg. As a committed EfB fan I am at the stadium in Esbjerg for almost every football match. Furthermore, I play golf and try to keep myself in shape by running.

SHUTDOWN IN THE DANISH SECTOR

The month of June was characterised by preparation and execution of a shutdown of all Maersk installations. The shutdown takes places every four years to make room for equipment inspections

During the spring and summer period we have upgraded the number of scaffolders for various Maersk installations quite significantly, especially as regards the preparation of accommodation rigs.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AT Q-STAR ENERGY: I am in charge of the overall accounts at Q-STAR ENERGY. Furthermore, I am responsible for all matters concerning wages to our employees in wind projects and in the Danish sector.

CIVIL STATUS/PRIVATE: Married to Nancy and father of 3 grownup daughters. Based in Esbjerg. I spend my spare time with my family and grandchildren as well as good friends.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AT Q-STAR ENERGY: I take care of all transport and hotel tasks, including the approval of transport receipts and submitted personal vouchers/ receipts. Furthermore, I am responsible for the overall purchasing function at Q-STAR ENERGY.

Q-STAR ENERGY has a very competent logistics department, where several hundred flights and transport jobs are ordered every week in close co-operation with efficient airline companies, hotels and taxi, bus and ferry companies in Europe. This ensures a very speedy and efficient mobilisation of personnel, as it is often possible to collect and supply personnel for the projects within 24 hours.

MARKETING To maintain the exposure of Q-STAR ENERGY outside the projects, it is necessary to renew our various marketing initiatives once in a while. Our cars are visible in the streets, our running clothing was visible at the Vestkystløbet, the new pylon is visible in Stormgade 99 and our new neck warmers and hats are visible among our employees.

PHOTO COMPETITION The three winners of this year’s photo competition have all been chosen from our wind department. This can be explained by the relatively easy access to taking pictures in the conditions at hand for our employees in the wind projects.

However, we will encourage everyone, who is interested in photography, at the oil
